Grassroots Team Spotlight: MO Grind Elite 17U

Prep Girls Hoops Missouri continues its grassroots spotlight features with a look at the MO Grind Elite 17U. The team consists of talented players from the Kansas City area. &nbsp; <h4>Roster</h4> Alexis Alexander (Blue Springs South): The 6’2" 2024 forward is a Division I college prospect in basketball and volleyball. She is a strong inside player who can score and rebound the ball well. She helped Blue Springs South to a third-place finish in the Class 6 state tournament. [player_tooltip player_id="279705" first="Amrri" last="Thompson"] (Raytown South): A 5’6" 2023 guard who has good speed and she excels in the open court. She is a very good 3-point shooter and she also excels on the defensive end. [player_tooltip player_id="279704" first="Jiyani" last="Thompson"] (Raytown South): A 5’6" 2023 guard who does a nice job slicing into the lane for buckets and she can also hit the 3-pointer. She has good quickness and handles with the ability to pass the ball. Mariyah Noel (Bonner Springs): A talented 6’0" 2023 forward from the Kansas side who has a versatile skill set. She can score from the inside, but she can also knock down 3-pointers off the catch and off the dribble. She can also handle the ball and lead the fast break. Tyriana Stanford (Olathe North): A 5’11" 2023 forward who can stretch the floor with her excellent 3-point shooting. She moves well and does a good job getting to the open spots. Sh’ryah Wright (Lincoln Prep): A 6’1" 2024 forward who is a very good all-purpose player with her ability to play several roles. She is a good facilitator with his ball handling and passing ability. She is also a versatile defender who can guard the post with her size and still play the passing lanes on the perimeter. She can also step out and knock down the 3-pointer on offense. [player_tooltip player_id="213188" first="Jayla" last="Cornelius"] (Blue Springs): A talented 5’9" 2024 guard who attacks the basket well and can score in the lane. She can play through the contact or she can score on step throughs to avoid the contact. She also has an effective mid-range jumper. Rian Rainey (Lincoln Prep): A 5’6" 2024 point guard who is physically strong and plays a good overall floor game. She is a solid playmaker who also defends very well. The lefty can score on some tough takes to the basket and hit the 3-pointer.
