I love seeing players hit big shots, especially down the stretch however I take doing things in the clutch to another level, like making a big play to start or change the momentum of a game which more times than not is the big shot however other things fall into the same category, for me and these also fall into the category of GAMECHANGERS
Grace Thompson Grace Thompson 5'11" | SF Elkhorn North | 2023 State NE -5’9 G/F (Elkhorn North) Omaha Supreme Basketball 2023 Hanke [2023]
Thompson is long and athletic, that is the base I use for profiles more times than not however more importantly, so do many college coaches and they give scholarships. I speak about intangibles to go along with whatever profile and her playing the passing lane JUST DID IT for me, I love seeing that but that was just one thing. She scores off the dribble and finished after contact, nice body control helped and she also did a good job defending. The big thing was her handling the ball and seeing the floor and when you can hit the trailer going full speed, it tells me a lot
Adalyn Waters-5’8 G/F (Verdigris) EYG 2024 [2024]
Waters filled in so many blanks during the event and that already had me taking her picture. When you understand a couple of very important things, how to get yours in the flow and play within yourself, more times than not, things will fall into place. She understands the game, I label that HEADY, and she did a very good job getting positioning to rebound over taller players which are leading to this. Down the stretch, she battled multiple times for everything, and her offensive rebound and putback, and one helped secure the victory
Maddie Wilbeck-5’4 G Brookfield) COH Elite Keller [2024]
Wilbeck played her role to a tee, she handled the ball under pressure, understood how to control the tempo, when to push it and when not to push it, and she saw the floor, making the right passes, at the right time, to the right teammate and as a college coach that was recruiting my daughter once told me “there are more things than scoring that help to win games” however when a big bucket was needed, she delivered and her pull-up jumper was smooth
SaMiyah Ellis SaMiyah Ellis 5'8" | PG Wichita Heights | 2025 State KS -5’7 PG (Sunrise Christian Academy) Kansas Bluejays 2023 [2025]
Ellis is one of those “never takes a play off” type of player and she just goes hard, on either end. She’s explosive off the dribble, try to stay with her in the open court and get back with me but her diving on the floor 10 feet for loose balls makes her a “safe” bet to turn games around, I added a little baseball in there, but her game is a home run as she rounds all the bases, scores off the dribble, drops the mid to long-range, sees the floor and defends but her applying heat to create turnovers just adds fuel to the fire
Kenzie Denny-5’7 PG (Barletsveille) Tulsa Lady Hawks 2025 [2026]
Debby is how can I say his, the straw that stirs the drink, as she is so energetic that it trickles down to her teammates. She did a good job “on the ball” defending and understands how to force the offensive player into the trap yet she also has quick hands to come away with steals. She saw the floor and her threading the needle in traffic was extremely nice but what was even nicer was watching her not only creating her shot but wanting it down the stretch and her huge 3 at the buzzer sent her team’s opening game into overtimes
