This game allowed me to see some new blood and get some players on my radar. Let’s take a look at some of the standouts from this game.
Maliyah Banks | PG | No Limit/Riverview | 2027
This article is supposed to be featuring incoming freshmen, but Maliyah was playing up a division and really putting in some work. This point guard caught my attention during the semi-finals match up game. She showed really good poise and played with a good pace. She ran the point like a seasoned high school player. Maliyah kept her team organized, understood when to push tempo, got others involved, and could put the ball in the basket. Maliyah has one more year before she enters high school, but her skill set allowed to do more than hold her own which was impressive.
Kambriyah Pettis | Post/Forward | No Limit/Riverview | 2026
Having a versatile athletic player on the basketball court is an asset to any team. Kambriyah is that player for her No Limit team. Her versatility allows her to play multiple positions on the floor. She can play down low with the bigs or on perimeter with wing players. Defensively she did a good job of providing help and being a shot blocker. Offensively she kept things simple with straight line drives and finishing around the rim with a soft touch.
Kaylin Bean | CG | D.E.B.S. Elite/Cabot | 2026
Kaylin really impressed me with her effort on both ends of the floor. She pressures the ball well and understands how to harass the ball handler without unnecessary fouling. When not guarding the ball she is alert and aware of what’s going on and uses her athletic ability to play the passing lanes for steals and deflections. A high IQ player that has good vision and is a good passer, Kaylin can easily make plays for her teammates. She also has the ability to finish for herself, especially in the open floor where she is a nightmare to handle.
Karstyn Scrivner | Wing | D.E.B.S. Elite/Jessieville | 2026
Every team needs a shot maker and Karstyn was making shots from various spots on the floor during the championship game. When you have a shooter on the floor, it creates long closeouts and gives her teammates that like to penetrate a lane to get to the rim. Karstyn showed during the game that you had to keep an eye on her at all times. She often cut to open areas vs the defense during penetration for the catch and shoot jumper. If the defender got to close she showed she could put the ball on the floor and finish at the rim in traffic with either hand.
Brooklyn Owens Brooklyn Owens 5'11" | SF HarBer | 2025 State AR | PG | D.E.B.S. Elite/Stuttgart | 2026
Brooklyn had a very impressive championship game. She had her fingerprints all over the game on both sides of the ball. Defensively she provided really good pressure on the ball. The type of pressure she provides throws the opponent off and forces them to play in a way they’re not accustomed to. When she was on offense she ran the team well. An extension of the coach, she communicated well with her teammates. Skill wise she took the ball strong to the basket, made the three-ball, pushed the ball well in transition, and could finish vs contact.
