LBI Summer Showcase: 2023 Ball Handlers

<p class="p1">LBI hosted their Summer Showcase this month and as a live event, it had some great competition.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>Here are the 2023 ball handlers who were dominant for their teams.</p> <p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="385127" first="Skylar" last="White"] | Carolina Flames 17U Nike Moses</b></p> <p class="p1">White (featured photo) is so quick moving in all directions on the court whether she is handling the ball or jumping into passing lanes.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She does a great job making the defense shift to open up the floor for her teammates to score some points.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>Her quickness made it difficult for guards to get around her even causing a turnover with a five second call.</p> <p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="116906" first="Samyha" last="Suffren"] | Team Curry 17U</b></p> <p class="p1">Suffren moves with such speed when handling the ball.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She makes a move and blows by her defenders.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She was consistently grabbing steals to take the other direction, too, and she makes sharp passes ahead to her teammates or underneath the basket to get some points for her team.</p> <p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="158260" first="Maraja" last="Pass"] | Team Curry 17U</b></p> <p class="p1">Pass is such a good facilitator on offense showing off her handles to get around her defenders, and she knows how to get the ball to her teammates while she is drawing the defenders towards her.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She uses her high basketball IQ to make the best move and blow by someone with ease.</p> <p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="202003" first="La’Kayia" last="Hunt"] | 910 Flames 17U</b></p> <p class="p1">Hunt sold her fakes well to get around her opponents.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She did a nice job penetrating the paint to create space for her teammates to score their points.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She crashed boards on the defensive side of the ball and immediately pushed the ball up the court to score on fast breaks.</p> <p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="323902" first="Valerie" last="Veauthier"] | 910 Flames 17U</b></p> <p class="p1">Veauthier thread the needle with some nice passes pushing the ball up the court in transition.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She moved quickly with the ball finding ways around her opponents to get her passes into her post players.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She can certainly score herself showing off her jumpers from all over the court.</p>
