Until then, a number of them took part in one more live period recently at War Games in the Atlanta area. It was put together by Insider Exposure and staged at a number of venues in the area – including the Suwanee Sports Academy. One wonders what there were more of – teams or college coaches as there were a bevy of each.
We at Prep Girls Hoops were also on hand for the event’s final day this past Friday. As expected, a number of Georgia’s best and brightest balled out on their home court.
Carib Morris – 2029 – Lakeside MS/Denmark HS – Atlanta Cagers 2026 – Morris is already playing up several classes. Morris is teeming with upside and is poised to rise up Georgia’s prep school basketball ranks as her career blossoms. She can shoot from long range and will help out on double teams which can trap opposing ball carriers. Morris also will shoot the ball from midrange and is not afraid to draw contact and head to the free throw line. She concluded War Games ATL with a 15-point effort in what was a lopsided victory (55-15) over Compound Team Rice at Suwannee Sports Academy.
Nyla Black – 2027 – Horizon Christian Academy – Atlanta Cagers 2026 – Playing up a year in class has its benefits when one possesses the talents that Black does on both sides of the floor. She is a lockdown defender which can include helping out on double teams to put opposing ball carriers in less than comfortable situations. She will slice and dice her way to the rim and it throws defenders off balance as they do not know if Black will attack or give it back to a teammate to get her more involved. She also converts on tough shots and will take her chances at the free throw line on the heels of drawing contact. She finished War Games ATL with a 17-point outing in a one-sided matchup against Compound Team Rice at Suwannee Sports Academy.
Sage Smiley – 2026 – Cherokee HS – Wood Elite 2026 – Prep Girls Hoops remembers several of the Wood Elite teams from the recently completed Triumph Region on the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit – including the Peach Games and the Triumph Region Finals. She is not afraid of contact and is willing to get to the free throw line. Her tall stature enables her to be a consistent threat to block shots whenever she is in the painted area. Smiley played an integral role in claiming a victory for Wood Elite 2026 over Or3gon Tripl3 14U to close out the 2022 rendition of War Games at Suwanee Sports Academy.
Lenai Louie – 2026 – Sprayberry HS – Wood Elite 2026 – Louie has had herself an active athletic career which has included time on the track and field circuit. On Friday at Suwanee Sports Academy, many of her skills were on display – including her ability to move the ball well in the flow of an offense and that of making tough shots near the rim. Louie also was a force to be reckoned with as a rebounder and played unselfish basketball as she knew when to score and when to pass. The Yellow Jackets’ program is in good hands with Louie sporting its colors for the upcoming four years.
