Insider Exposure hosted War Games ATL last week. It took place at several courts in the metro Atlanta area – including Suwanee Sports Academy in Gwinnett County. It was one of several major events occurring around the country as part of the live period.
We at Prep Girls Hoops also got a glimpse of the litany of talent that was on hand in Atlanta. For several, the travel was more daunting than for others that lived in nearby states. These stars were not fazed by the longer-than-usual trek.
Macy Spencer – 2023 – Tompkins HS – The Hoop Society Team Spaz – Her travel team was matched up in a close contest against ETA Thunder 2023 Campos. But Spencer was the one that the Tennessee-based travel team had no answers for. She had no problems playing on contact and getting to the free throw line. Spencer also took matters into her own hands at times by fording her way to the rim. She was accurate with her 3-point shot selection and managed to bolster her team’s output with heads up play. Spencer also displayed an affinity for taking care of the ball and limiting turnovers. Her offers include UTSA, Stephen F. Austin, St. John’s, LaSalle, Murray State and ULM.
Tobi Ademuwagun Tobi Ademuwagun 5'11" | PF The Village School | 2023 State TX – 2023 – The Village School – The Hoop Society Team Spaz – Ademuwagun also managed to cause problems for ETA Thunder 2023 Campos. She is listed at 5-foot-11 and can be versatile with where she will play. Ademuwagun can operate at either of the guard positions or as a four forward. She too is not afraid of contact and will find her way to the free throw line. Ademuwagun displays her toughness on a play-by-play basis and does not give up on any play. Another element of her game where she is difficult to contend with is her ability to rebound. Her offers include Old Dominion, Colorado State, Penn, Tulsa, Louisiana and Texas Southern.
Olivia Bennett – 2026 – Cascade MS – Or3gon Tripl3 14U – There were a few teams in Atlanta that flew all the way to the Peach State from across the country. The aforementioned team out of Oregon was one of those, but the travel did not faze Bennett. She played the game on contact and had no issues finding her way to the free throw line. Bennett had a fearless attitude which was seen in the way she attacked the basket in addition to her willingness to shoot 3-pointers. She also attempted tough shots and did the little things well such as diving for loose balls.
Reese Johnston – 2026 – Kalama HS – Or3gon Tripl3 14U – Johnston also finished War Games ATL with a stellar performance as she proved to be a key factor in her team playing an in-state Georgia team tough until the final buzzer. Johnston will try her hand at long range shots and can frustrate many an opposing team – and many an opposing coach – with her defensive prowess. She also displayed a willingness to dive for 50-50 balls – something that may not always be flashy but is an attribute many a coach admires. At 5-foot-9, she is the tallest member of the AAU squad while playing primarily as a guard.
