Grand Forks Red River: Coach Kent Ripplinger and his team are coming back after a very good year in 21-22' with a 19-7 record and a hard fought battle against Fargo Davies in the State Tournament to claim 4th Place. The Roughriders will returning with a very experienced squad filled with 2 All-Conference Players and All-Stater [player_tooltip player_id='240861' first='Jocelyn' last='Schiller']. They have experience, great players and a squad looking to come back to the State Tournament.

Leading the charge for Grand Forks will be returning All-State/All-Conference 5'6 Jr. Guard [player_tooltip player_id='240861' first='Jocelyn' last='Schiller']. Last year Schiller had 557pts/21.4ppg (2nd in EDC), 148assts/5.7apg, 143steals shot 40% from the field and 28% from behind the arc. Schiller is an all-around gifted athlete that knows her role on the court, and can flat out play. She's quick, composed and is a true player maker on both sides of the court. There is so many good things to say about her game it's hard to pick one in all honesty. With what she did last year, it's scary to think what she will do this year, I think it's safe to say Colleges have her on their radar, rightfully so.

Also returning is All-Conference 5'4 Jr. Guard Rylie McQuillan . McQuillan also a skilled guard herself will also have a leadership role on the floor for the Roughriders. Last year she put up 259pts/9.9ppg, had 84 assists and shot 40% from the field along with 36% from the 3-point land. McQuillan is a proven shooter who is a big part of her teams offense, she has speed, pressures the ball well and can knock down the open shots with ease. Expect her to put up big numbers this year and be a key presence on the court.

Senior [player_tooltip player_id='461315' first='Cassidy' last='O'Halloran'] a 5'7 is another notable athlete on the Roughriders roster, as a Junior she added 180pts/7ppg, shot 27% from the hardwood and also knocked down some 3-pointers as well. O'Halloran isn't only a shooter but she knows how to do work in the paint. She showed this last year as she pulled down a respective 121 Rebounds last year, and you can bet that number will increase this year. Another quality player you don't want to get relaxed on.

[player_tooltip player_id='240865' first='Hannah' last='Litzinger'] a 5'9 Jr. F will also be a big figure for GFRR, she has many good qualities to her game from scoring to rebounding as well. Last year she added 171pts, shot 36% from the field and had an impressive 177rebounds/6.8rpg. I expect to see her do plenty of work around the rim offensively and defensively alike. She has a good size to her, uses her body well to do work in the paint, and has a nice touch around the rim. She's full of talent, and has a bright future ahead of her.....a name were going to hear way more this Winter.

Fargo Shanley: The Fargo Shanley Deacons will be returning a very experienced squad with plenty of talent in their roster. The Deacons went 12-11 overall, and 12-8 in the EDC last year. They have a season squad that can do a little bit of everything on the court. They will be returning All-Conference Selection [player_tooltip player_id='257896' first='Mesiku' last='Hakim'] who will be coming back looking to put up even bigger numbers, and be the team leader on the floor.

6' Jr. [player_tooltip player_id='257896' first='Mesiku' last='Hakim'] is athletic as they come. There isn't much she can't do on the court, from rebounding, shooting, scoring and her work ethic is admirable from anyone. Last year she had 313pts/13.6ppg, 202 rebounds/8.8rpg and shot 61% from the field. Hakim is a very gifted athlete that works hard up and down the court all game long. She had an impressive year last year, and you can expect the same this coming year. A Double-Double average is insight for her, she has all the talent to do it, and the drive as well. Expect her rebounding stats to go up this year, she has size and can flat out bounce off the ground, she is very fun to watch.

6'1 Jr. Forward [player_tooltip player_id='244226' first='Maggie' last='Shorma'] will also be returning, another quality player coming out of Fargo Shanley. Last year she added 168pts/7.6ppg, 100 rebounds shot 31% form the field and added 31 assists. Shorma is a good sized forward that will be a real impactful player for the Decaons around the rim this year. She has all the mechanisms to really turn some heads and I can see it happening. I expect her to play more in the paint this coming year, but don't forget she is a proven shooter as well. Last year she knocked down 28 3-pointers, a good skill to have when your 6'1 and can play inside or out!

[player_tooltip player_id='219721' first='Jetta' last='Mevold'] a 5'10 Jr. G will also be also be a presence on the court we all need to be aware of. Mevold helped the deacons last year with 121points, shot 31% from the field and added 49 assists to her teams stat book. She may not put up the biggest numbers, but you can expect her to be a big contributor of the Deacons success. If she's not taking the shot to score, she's looking for a teammate to score. Another player I expect to have a big year, and make her name known.

[player_tooltip player_id='257903' first='Seely' last='Stockmoe'] a 6' Jr. Forward is another player that could have a breakout year, last year she had 118pts/73 rebounds and shot 31% from the field. She could have a big year for herself and really help out the team in the paint with her size.

Valley City: The Hi-Liners are coming back in 22-23' looking to create some spark in the EDC. Last year they went 3-17 overall, and you can bet they will be looking to come back even stronger with veteran line-up that has plenty of talent offensively and defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='196880' first='Brooke' last='Eggermont'] a 6' Senior Center will be coming back for her Senior year looking to make an even bigger impact in the EDC then she did last year. The All-Conference selection is filled with talent and a great work ethic to match. Last year Eggermont put up 278pts/13.2ppg, pulled down 160 Rebounds/7.8RPG and shot a notable 39% from the field. Eggermont has many good qualities to her game and will be a big piece to the puzzle for Valley City this year. She can wreck havoc in the paint and knows how to draw the foul as well. She's got size, a great shot and knows how to work, another player expected to have some big stats this coming year.

[player_tooltip player_id='378553' first='Tesa' last='Olson'] a 5'9 Jr. Guard will be a returning starter as well. Olsen put up 182pts/9.1ppg, 113 rebounds, 52 assists and a solid 38 steals. Olson is an aggressive guard that can be tough to get by for an offense. She moves well, has good speed and likes to pressure the guards defensively. She has a fluid shot to her and you can bet she will be shooting way more this year. She will be another team leader on the floor for the Hi-Liners. She has many good quality's to her, and will only get better as the year goes on. Another player to be aware of.

Senior 6' Forward [player_tooltip player_id='378744' first='Carly' last='Goven'] will be returning for her final year with the Hi-Liners. Last year she put up 136pts, 90 rebounds and shot 36% from the field. Goven is another one with good size to her frame and has proved she knows how to do work in the lane. Expect her to do plenty of work around the block weather its pulling down rebounds, or putting up second chance points off the glass. She isn't one you want to forget about, she has good mechanics to her game, and knows how to use them.
