Her activity leads to production in the paint as a long-armed rebounder. Jefferson is still filling into her body, but she has a projectable wiry frame that will add muscle over time. Jefferson impressed me with how seamlessly she used her left hand. Any time she was on the left side of the basket, Dailey would finish with her off hand. Coming off a season in which she averaged 10.3 points and 7 rebounds, Jefferson provided 13 points and 8 rebounds to open up SummerSlam.
Highlights
Kennedy Davis
Kennedy Davis
Kennedy was a bright spot against a powerful Southeast United team. Davis is a good shooter with three-level scoring capabilities. She hit a pair of mid-range jumpers and knocked down a three to help space out the floor. Davis got downhill and converted with a floater and scored through contact with an And-1 to finish with 11 points.
Tania Bailey
Tania Bailey
A physical compact guard, Tania Bailey got hot with her three-point shot at SummerSlam, drilling three deep balls en route to 12 points. Bailey was tasked with beating pressure and used her solid base to keep defenders at arm’s reach.
Playing with a banged up makeshift group, Riley did her best to keep games competitive. In a loss to Compound Team Carn, Riley went 5-13 from the field to finish with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Her motor and toughness are hallmarks of her game. D-II schools are tracking.
Maren’s outside shot was off vs. Lady OTOD Pink, but that didn’t stop her from making a difference, as she turned to her defense to spark her play. Cline is a reliable on-ball defender with good instincts. Her hands are quick to earn deflections. Maren showed her grittiness, swooping down for rebounds. She posted 7 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 steals.
Maggie iced the game from the line going 6-10 from the line in the second half. Thompson totaled 12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. Maggie usually isn’t a major scorer and instead over the course of her career has impacted games with her passing, defense and IQ. She’s a savvy senior that has been through many wars over her time at South Forsyth. She can be trusted in big spots.
