Black scored 10 of Chestatee’s 15 fourth quarter points as the Lady War Eagles survived the Vikings 56-53. Riley went 8-10 from the line in the fourth including going 3-4 on one-and-one opportunities in the last 23.8 seconds. Black’s downhill assault not only resulted in trips to the foul line, but she found great success as a playmaker, hitting teammates on the block once the defense stepped up to stop her. Riley recorded 21 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 block, guiding her team to gutty win.

Three fouls saddled Black and ultimately dampened any chances of a win, a 17-0 run dooming the Lady Ware Eagles, but Riley still managed to get hers, collecting 16 points, 16 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block. Black forced her way to the rim for tough buckets as her jumper didn’t fall. Adding counter moves and getting to her left hand will help her against stiff defenses with length.

Riley emerged onto the statewide stage and started popping up on recruiting boards after averaging 18 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.3 steals per game. She is a powerful downhill driver and a physical rebounder. Black has added a pull-up jumper to her game to avoid getting too deep into traffic. When she drives and kicks, Chestatee is their most dangerous.

Riley won League MVP, leading Chestatee in every statistical category while ranking in the Top 5 in every stat league-wide. Black piled in 12.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.2 steals and 1 block per game. Her physical attack to the rim overwhelmed most opponents. Her mid-range pull-up jumper was a bright spot, turning into a lethal weapon especially in transition.
