Morgan Gavazzi Morgan Gavazzi 5'6" | PG Ponte Vedra | 2024 State FL / 2024 / 5”7″ PG / Ponte Vedra
Mental toughness was the first thing I immediately noticed about Gavazzi. Confidence was the second thing. Gavazzi is as steady as they come on the court and can handle the ball, run the offense, and shoot the daylights out of the ball from behind the arc. She is one of the best at stringing together a multitude of threes in one game. She also seems to perform her best in the biggest of games. Gavazzi played her way to team MVP last season and received other St Johns County recognition. She is one of the best shooters on the entire coast and definitely in St Johns County. Last year Gavzzi connected on 70 threes. Gavazzi is positioned for another outstanding season and once again she will be in the running for St Johns County player of the year.
Aniyah Fisher Aniyah Fisher 5'9" | SF St. Augustine HS | 2024 State FL / 2024 / 5’9″ SF / St Augustine
Fisher is one of the top 2024s in the State and her AAU performance backs up this statement. She is a versatile player who can play multiple positions on offense and defense. This past season Fisher really opened some eyes with her consistency behind the three-point line. She also took the ball to the goal which has always been a big part of her game. Defensively she plays the passing lanes well and has great anticipation. She recorded numerous steals over the summer. Fisher also is also good on the boards and can rebound and immediately initiate transition due to her ball handling ability.
Kennedy Rosendahl Kennedy Rosendahl 5'6" | SG Ponte Vedra | 2024 State FL / 2024 / 5’9” PG-SG / Ponte Vedra
What hasn’t already been said in the past 3 months about this budding player on the First Coast scene? Rosendahl really impressed this summer with her shooting and her play at the point guard position. She is a high-IQ ball player who shows great leadership on the court. She does a lot of good things on the court, including handling the ball, passing the ball and shooting the ball from all over the court. Rosendahl is one of the top three-point shooters in totals and efficiency and she will likely be in the running for the top 5 on the First Coast in 3-point totals. Last year she knocked down an amazing 73 three-pointers.
Kaitlynn Weaver Kaitlynn Weaver 6'0" | SF Tocoi Creek | 2024 State FL / 2024 / 6’0” SF / Tocoi Creek
Weaver is another versatile player who can play on the inside and outside, particularly on the offensive side of the court. The first Coast was introduced to Weaver this past AAU season and she was really impressive throughout the AAU season. She shoots the ball well with a nice high release. She can knock it down in the midrange area and can step out behind the three-point line and knock the shot down.
Taylor Perce Taylor Perce 5'10" | SG Ponte Vedra | 2024 State FL / 2024 / 5’10” SF / Ponte Vedra
During the Summer League, no one shot the ball better than Perce. In a doubleheader over the summer, she knocked down 7 threes and showed a lot of versatility in her game. She shot the ball well in summer AAU and also did a good job of rebounding and playing in Ponte Vedra’s motion offense. Taylor showed that she could put the ball on the floor, get to the rim, draw the defense, and pass to open teammates when the layup didn’t present itself.
Charlotte Peverley Charlotte Peverley 6'0" | PF Pontre Vedra | 2024 State FL / 2024 / 6’0” / Ponte Vedra
Peverley made one of the biggest jumps over the summer in productivity on the basketball court. Peverly has always shot the three fairly well and did so this past AAU season. Two things stood out about Peverley’s game: She made a lot of contributions in the paint, utilizing her height and body size; and she really improved out on the wing in the motion offense. She made plays out of the pick and roll set, drove to the basket at times, and made some nice passes to teammates. Peverley’s versatility will be a huge asset for Ponte Vedra this upcoming season.
Maya Richards Maya Richards 5'9" | SG Ponte Vedra | 2024 State FL / 2024 / 5’8” SF / Ponte Vedra
Richards has made a contribution for the past 2 seasons and is that workhorse you want on the court. She is mentally tougher than most and is versatile enough to play 3 to 4 positions on the court. Two years ago, her team was playing against Oakleaf who at the time featured “The” Taliah Scott Taliah Scott 5'8" | SG St. John's Country Day | 2023 State #31 Nation FL . Scott was on fire that evening, but she had to work for everything she got because Richards took the challenge of defending Scott. Scott set a record in 3s that game, but Richards won the respect of her teammates and others. It’s that confidence and heart that makes Richards one of the top 2024s in St Johns county.
Jasmine Valcine / 2024 / 5’6” PG / Tocoi Creek
Over the summer, Valcine was impressive in the summer league. She really has great speed and is very competitive. She is a good on-ball defender and it will be hard to get by her. Offensively, she is able to get to the line because of her elite speed. Over the summer, she showed that she could get the ball to her teammates in a good scoring position as well. She and Kaitlynn Weaver Kaitlynn Weaver 6'0" | SF Tocoi Creek | 2024 State FL could be a nightmare for teams in the pick and roll game.
Kelly Cramer Kelly Cramer 5'9" | PG St. Joseph Academy | 2024 State FL / 2024 / PG / St Joseph Academy
Cramer is one of the top 2024 on the First Coast and in St Johns County. She brings energy on both ends of the court. She is at her best in the open court and she can finish with the best of them. She can absorb contact and still score or get to the freethrow line. Cramer attempted 210 freethrows last season. Offensively, Cramer can score at all levels. She averaged over 19 points per game and knocked down 13 threes. She also rebounded well from the guard position averaging 7.5 rebounds per game.
There are a few 2024s in St Johns county who are under the radar: Sophia Panico Sophia Panico 5'8" | PF Bartram Trail | 2024 State FL (5’9″ PF, Bartram); Shruthika Kondabrolu Shruthika Kondabrolu 5'10" | C Nease | 2024 State FL (6’0″ C, Nease); and Alayla Terry Alayla Terry 5'7" | SF Oakleaf | 2024 State FL (5’10” F, St Augustine)
