Texas is still in the mix as far as next-level talent. For those who don't know, I started promoting TEXAS players over a decade ago because in my opinion, the national guys were not doing enough and of course I was right. I probably used some words expressing my dissatisfaction and those same NATIONAL guys omitted my daughter from the McDonald's team, she has played 9 years in the WNBA.

I don't care who a player plays for, the logo doesn't matter, even if I could care less about a player's trainer, coach, or director, I would never take it out on a player but few people think along the same lines. With that being said, here are some of the players that stood out at Prime Time Nationals in the 6th Grade Division

Addyson Flowers ([program_tooltip program_id='712934' first='Team' last='Lex'] Tarheels Allen)

Flowers is on the verge of breaking out in a huge way because she's "long and athletic" that is the base, and she does things INSTINCTIVELY. I loved watching her play the passing lane as well as handle the ball in the open court afterward but she also attacks off the dribble in the set and finished, at times acrobatically. Solid rebounder and defender, good upside

Arielle Warren ([program_tooltip program_id='712934' first='Team' last='Lex'] Tarheels Allen)

Warren and her twin sister [player_tooltip player_id='881998' first='Ariana' last='Warren'] left a lasting impression at a tournament in Houston last season and to say I'm pleased with their progression would be an understatement. Arielle is dropping the long ball consistently as well as attacking strongly off the dribble while Ariana is also attacking relentlessly and finishing after contact

Nae Mosley (GCS Level Up)

Mosley falls into the #sizedontmatter club that I love to hashtag simply because she can play. She sees the floor very well at this stage, in fact, she's ahead of the game yet she also UNDERSTANDS THE GAME and can run a team as well as control the tempo. She handles the ball under pressure, scores off the dribble, and plays the passing lane

Azilee Ornelas (Lady Knights)

Ornelas creates her shot nicely under pressure and this enables her to either drop the jumper or use her deceptive first step to attack the basket which she does with either hand. She also showed she could finish with either hand, after contact but observing her desire to play defense was definitely a plus for me

Ria Carter ([program_tooltip program_id='715833' first='Hoop' last='Society'] 2028)

Carter just gets after it and her OTB, "on the ball" defense was refreshing to see because she falls into that never takes a play-off, type of player and when you can bring the type of heat she brings, that's a huge plus. Let me keep adding as she also does what I love to see and that's "play the passing lane"

[player_tooltip player_id='878614' first='Lanae' last='Dallas'] (Hoops Society 2028)

Her sheer athleticism is going to keep her in the mix of the top players because she will not be denied. She has UPS and watching her go after everything off the rim told me a lot but even more, was her constantly finishing on putbacks, yes after the lick. She did a good job setting the defender up to attack the rim and she sowed the jumper, which she knocked down with a hand in her face

Elizabeth Goodlett (Pro Skills 2028 National)

Goodlett had me feeling GOOD that she LETT me see the variety of things she could do. She's long and athletic, see above and she's active around the basket yet her timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots is going to create some problems. She also scored around the basket and attacked from outside the paint

Keleena Ozumba (Pro Skills 2028 National)

Ozumba is already over "the magic number" which is 6'0 and that virtually assures a player will play at the next level with any type of skill set. She's already showing the "hands and footwork" as well as finishing around the basket, she rebounds on both ends, runs the floor, on both ends, and has good timing. Her upside is SCARY, not for me, opposing players

Paige Davis ([program_tooltip program_id='715168' first='True' last='Texas Hoops'] 2028 National)

Davis had me turn back the PAIGE as I remember that heady guard that just kept things together. She is still THE GLUE and does so many things you won't see on a score or stat sheet like setting screens and forcing traps, plus her "talking on the court" falls under the "being vocal" category, which makes me smile. Don't get it twisted, she drops the jumper with ease and scores off the dribble, plus she rebounds and defends

Kyndall Smith ([program_tooltip program_id='715168' first='True' last='Texas Hoops'] 2028 National)

Smith is long and athletic and I can only envision what she will become. I like how she reacts around the basket, she showed she could block shots as well as make defenders think about attacking but she also has some nice moves in the paint and can finish. She rebounds, on both ends and runs the floor

Anna Channell ([program_tooltip program_id='715168' first='True' last='Texas Hoops'] 2028 National)

Channel had me staying on the same station as I just watched how she understood the meaning of "playing within yourself" and "getting hers in the flow" and she definitely was ready to take the BIG shot when needed, she showed the pull-up is going to be one of her "go-to" skills but she also did a good job seeing the floor

Berkley Smith ([program_tooltip program_id='715168' first='True' last='Texas Hoops'] 2028 National)

Smith does a variety of things very well, yeah I enjoyed her slicing down the lane and attacking the basket, even showed me the reverse lay-up yet she also was seeing plays before they happened and her constant "directing of traffic" on both ends had me smiling as she "gets it already" but she also gives it, as in solid defense
