Class of 2024 Rankings: Stock Risers Inside the Top 70

By Michael Wholey 9/29/22 11:00 AM EST   We released an updated rankings for the class of 2024 last week.  Here is a look at some of the biggest movers inside the top 70 for the class of 2024!   [player_tooltip player_id='349277' first='Gabby' last='Bush'] (Tampa Prep / East Coast United) – 5'11 Wing    <figure class="wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/07/20220706_151540-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-456320" width="158" height="281"/></figure>   New Ranking: 35   Previous Ranking: 57   Got a chance to see Bush for the first time this summer at USF camp where she single handedly went on a 12-0 run knocking down 3s and attacking the rim off the bounce.  While she was impressive for Tampa Prep in summer at team camp, she was equally if not more impressive for East Coast United throughout the spring/summer picking up a number of mid major D1 college scholarship offers.  At 5'11 her size is very intriguing, combined with her ability to shoot from the perimeter and 1v1 moves to break down defenders moves her up 20+ spots to # 25 in the class of 2024.        [player_tooltip player_id='223783' first='Jade' last='Thompson'] (Tampa Bay Tech / Miami Suns) – 5'6 Guard   New Ranking: 53   Previous Ranking: 90   Thompson started the travel season with the Tampa Thunder then moved over the Miami Suns in July.  The 5'6 guard is athletic, scrappy and aggressive.  She is a pesky on ball defender who gives maximum effort every play and does a good job being around the basketball and being the first to 50/50 balls.  She is crafty with the ball in her hands and does a good job getting into the paint and breaking down defenders.  Thompson moves up nearly 40 spots and is just outside the top 50 at # 53 in the class of 2024.      [player_tooltip player_id='426379' first='Shanaii' last='Gamble'] (Somerset Academy Silver Palms / Miami Suns) – 5'10 Wing   New Ranking: 54   Previous Ranking: 71   Gamble has a really impressive build and a versatile skill set where she has the ability to play both the wing and forward spots.  Her strong build makes her an impact offensive and defensive rebounder and her aggressive play makes her hard to guard in the paint.  She runs the floor hard, rebounds from the perimeter and in the paint and can guard both perimeter and interior players.  Gamble moves up 15 spots to # 54 in the class of 2024 rankings!     [player_tooltip player_id='221840' first='Dezmariah' last='Soto'] (Colonial / Team Knight) – 5'2 Guard   <figure class="wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/04/138DDE26-D581-447F-9E9D-B58D46D9FC9A.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-419662" width="338" height="253"/></figure>   New Ranking: 55   Previous Ranking: 93   Soto is always one of my favorite players to watch as she has an exceptional basketball IQ, is a very good ballhandler, and uses her IQ and court vision along with her open court moves to create easy shots for her teammates.  She plays under control, does not turn the ball over and does a great job being an extension of the coach and a leader on the court.        [player_tooltip player_id='426351' first='Jennica' last='Suggs'] (Central Florida Christian Academy / J Sizzle) – 5'8 Guard   <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/07/FUb04SIXwAMrGZ0-768x1024.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-468371" width="210" height="280"/></figure>   New Ranking: 56   Previous Ranking: 193   Suggs was a new face for me this summer and makes one of the biggest jumps moving up over 100 spots to just outside the top 50 and comes in at # 56 overall.   She is a playmaker that can play multiple guard positions, does a good job creating her own shot and is very active on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.         [player_tooltip player_id='223784' first='Nicole' last='Carreno'] (Seffner Christian / Central Florida Elite) – 5'10 Wing   New Ranking: 59   Previous Ranking: 88   Carreno is one of the classes top outside shooters who knocks down multiple 3s every time I see her play! At 5'10, she can shoot the ball over the top of defenders and is always ready to let it fly.  She moves up nearly 30 spots to # 59 overall in the class of 2024 and should continue to rise.  She does all the little things on the court and is a winner!     [player_tooltip player_id='248291' first='Kennedy' last='Rosendahl'] (Pontre Vedra / East Coast United) – 5'6 Guard   <figure class="wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/12/20211119_204229-e1655289284715-764x1024.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-360713" width="171" height="230"/></figure>   New Ranking: 61   Previous Ranking: 73   Rosendhal was one of my favorite players to watch this summer for East Coast United. She is a skilled guard with great shooting form and shoots a high percentage. Not just limited to being a perimeter shooter, Rosendahl has a high IQ and uses her IQ well and is a good decision maker.       [player_tooltip player_id='221843' first='Samantha' last='Vales'] (Miami Christian / Team Knight) – 5'3 Guard   <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/04/6C7CADC2-0E46-4C50-AC9F-102A2C374F72.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-419660" width="284" height="213"/></figure>   New Ranking: 63   Previous Ranking: 96   Vales moves up 25 spots to # 63.  She is a strong, aggressive perimeter player with a solid build.  She is a consistent performer who fills up the stat sheet every game.  She does not excel at any one skill but has an overall all-around skill set that makes her an impact player that is tough to take off the court.  She moves up 30 spots and comes in at # 63 in the class of 2024.      About Class of 2024 Rankings   This is the third update of the 2024 rankings in 2022.  We have taken a look at players performance and potential with both their High School and Travel teams.  If there is a player that not included in the rankings or you feel is not ranked properly, please email us at <a href="mailto:WholeyPrepHoops@gmail.com">WholeyPrepHoops@gmail.com</a> and include Name, Height, Position, HS, Travel team, any stats available and any video available.  Our goal is to cover the entire state, but we are well aware that we have not seen everyone in the state and those that we have seen, we have not seen all of them equally the same amount of time and games.    About Our Rankings   Prep Girls Hoops prospect rankings have been compiled by our staff with input from high school, club and college coaches from across the state.
