The class of 2026 has a plethora of division one caliber talent. We have already seen two of the top prospects in the state/nation getting multiple offers already. That would be Maddyn Greenway Maddyn Greenway 5'8" | PG Providence Academy | 2026 State MN and Tori Oehrlein Tori Oehrlein 5'10" | CG Crosby-Ironton | 2026 State MN who have already reached the 1,000-point mark and have made a huge impact not only for their programs but for the state of Minnesota. Elite players like this put the work in so we are excited to see what they bring to the table this year. Another top prospect, Lanelle Wright Lanelle Wright 5'8" | PG Minnetonka | 2026 State MN showed her stock last year coming off the bench for a stacked Minnetonka team, where she averaged just under 5 points per game. We predict she will have a major role this year and be depended on a lot. She plays calm cool and collected and doesn’t let much rattle her. Wright will continue to get better because she constantly works on her game.
Kate Amelotte Kate Amelotte 5'11" | SF Wayzata | 2026 State MN – Wayzata
The 5’10 combo guard has always been a top level player, but this summer she really stepped up. More of the weight was left on her shoulders with Greenway and Wright playing up this summer. Amelotte will be one of the best two-way players in the state by the end of her high school career. She can play any position and can guard any position. Her best skill is getting to the hoop, creating contact and finishing. She is a very strong guard and has the perfect body build that will help her at the college level. The freshman will be a nice addition to the Wayzata squad.
Cail Jahnke Cail Jahnke 6'2" | CG St. Michael-Albertville | 2026 State MN – St. Michael-Albertville
At 6’0, I consider Jahnke a big guard. That’s the new term we use because kids who are 6’0 and up are starting to play more of a guard role rather than a forward position. She has the skill set of a guard but can play the 1-4 with her length. The freshman cracked the varsity lineup last year as an 8th grader, where STMA took second in the State Championship. Look for her to have a bigger role this year and make an impact on both ends of the floor.
Maddy Blaylark Maddy Blaylark 5'7" | CG DeLaSalle | 2026 State MN – DeLaSalle
The 5’7 lefty guard caught our eye this summer having a breakout AAU season. Blaylark is a straight up shooter. She can hit from beyond the arc and has a nice mid range shot. Her midrange game is something that will help her be successful at the next level. She plays with great pace and poise. Her ability to create space for her shot is way beyond her years. The shooting guard will play a major role for DeLaSalle this season.
Other Freshman to Watch
Dalia Thornton-Fay Dalia Thornton-Fay 5'11" | CG Minnetonka | 2026 State MN – Minnetonka
Super athletic two-way combo guard who is an elite scorer and great defender. Best at getting down hill and finishing around the rim.
Kate Holmquist Kate Holmquist 5'7" | PG Maple Grove | 2026 State MN – Maple Grove
Smart combo guard with great handles who can shoot the ball well from the three and has the ability to score in many different facets.
Mya Moore Mya Moore 5'10" | PG Orono | 2026 State MN – Orono
Smooth silky point guard who has a high basketball IQ. Great at controlling the pace on offense and making good reads.
Riley Ang Riley Ang 5'7" | CG Rosemount | 2026 State MN – Rosemount
Pure shooter but can also get to the hoop with a quick first step. Great decision maker on both ends.
