Saturday we were able to attend the annual LGR Fab 50 camp in New Orleans Louisiana. The event is the who’s who of girls basketball in the state of Louisiana with girls representing from the class of 2023 all the way up to the class of 2030. This one day event was and is filled with talent every year. Here are a few highlights from some of our 2024 class that their raised stocks.
Consistency and confidence are two words that comes to mind when I think about Eymani Key Eymani Key 5’8″ | CG Southside | 2024 State LA . Saturday she showed both! I’ve seen Eymani a couple of times throughout the summer and every time out she just leaves me to say, “man that kid’s getting better”! It was no different at the Fab 50 as she continued to knock down long range bombs. She handled the rock, got to the rim, and finished. She also brought so much energy to the camp on the defensive side. She continuously got up on people defensively letting them know about her performance. She most definitely would’ve been in the camp’s top running if there was such a thing! Not sure what her offer sheet looks like, nor if there’s any, but if this play continues the local mid majors need to come knocking immediately. Her confidence is on 1000!
Hands down, Markiyah is one of the toughest guards I spotted at the Fab 50 regardless of class. The lefty lived in the paint and had a few acrobatic finishes on the day. The Liberty High Pg shot it well on Saturday. I’d like to see her get to spots and shoot the pull up a little more. In a guard heavy class, she helped herself with her performance at the Fab 50 and will need to have a big year offensively for her Liberty High team to be successful.
Louisiana has a ton of 5’7 & 5’8 long armed guards and Mashayla is another to add to that list! At the Fab 50 I got to see her use that length defensively as she lived in the passing lanes and created a few turnovers. Offensively, she was a great finisher. She euro stepped her way to the rim a few times. As her confidence grows so should her game.

Gabrielle was also another tough minded guard that was on hand at the Fab 50. She pushed the pace for her team all day. A lefty who didn’t score it much, but was a dog on the defensive end while also making a few nice passes for assist in transition. All in all she had a very solid day in decision making. I wish she would’ve shot it more. Her left hand stroke isn’t bad at all.
One of my favorites from the one day camp was Rhianna. If stats were being kept I’m sure she would have led the camp in assist. She constantly broke defenders down off the bounce while setting her teammates up for easy buckets. Another thing that she showed was her ability to lead! She was very vocal during the camp more so on the defensive side, but also in the PnR game. I caught her one time telling the big what to do (slip the screen) in mid play which led to a lay-up. The lead guard is heading into her Junior Szn for the defending state champs, Northwood-Lena. Rhianna should start to pick up some recruiting interest pretty soon.
