With that being said, since we already talked about some of the 2024 watch list prospects, let’s continue talking about the prospects on that watch list.
Jordyn Jones Jordyn Jones C Clayton | 2024 State NJ – C, Clayton
Clayton has itself a stellar center in Jones, someone who’s developed herself into an excellent shot-blocker, honestly one of the best in the Tri-County Conference. She’s kept her team in many games with her rebounding and defense, and with some more consistent offensive production this season, you could see an All-Conference season out of her.
Summer Lonning Summer Lonning PF Columbia | 2024 NJ – PF, Conning
Lonning knows how to get herself in the right place at the right time in the lane for Conning, though her stats don’t necessarily jump off the page. Her growth as a sophomore was tremendous and we saw that she can be a reliable post player. However, there’s still more we need to see out of her, which should come with added growth as a junior.
Avery Labaska Avery Labaska PG Monroe | 2024 NJ – PG, Monroe
Labaska has great defensive skills and prowess overall, a fantastic feel for the game, where the ball is going, where she can pounce on passes. Court vision and court awareness go a long way with her and a high basketball IQ helps her out that much more on the floor. The progression is there and it’s only a matter of time before we see greatness out of Labaska this season.
Mady Maronski Mady Maronski SF Haddon Township | 2024 NJ – SF, Haddon Township
Maronski has shown plenty of glimpses of success with Haddon Township as a junior, commanding the lane well and getting herself to the foul line often. We really liked what we saw of her as a shot creator and chance creator down on the post. Playing against teams like Haddon Heights, Haddonfield and the rest of the Colonial Conference, she’s going to be tested early and often.
Jenna McGovern Jenna McGovern 5'7" | SG Cherry Hill East | 2024 NJ – 5-7 SG/SF, Cherry Hill East
McGovern has really concentrated herself down on the post for Cherry Hill East, but in doing so, she’s found plenty of success, averaging nearly 6.0 points per game as a sophomore. East has their hands full in the Olympic Conference, but having a player to consistently dump the ball low off to is a massive advantage.
Kaitlyn McGuigan Kaitlyn McGuigan 5'6" | PG Lower Cape May | 2024 State NJ – SG, Lower Cape May
McGuigan is one of the better up-and-coming shooting guards down the southern part of the Jersey Shore and has great potential beyond the arc, something to keep an eye out on. Averaging nearly eight points a game, McGuigan attacked the lane often and showcased an ability to shoot from close-range, mid-range and long-range positions.
Abigail McManus Abigail McManus SF Park Ridge | 2024 NJ – SF, Park Ridge
Steady progress. McManus has shown nothing but progress in her two seasons at Park Ridge, slowly coming into her own as a defensive specialist-type player for the Owls. That agility of hers is not shocking considering the success she has on the girls soccer team. One translates over to the other well and she’s finding herself inside the perimeter.
