Here at Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey, we're continuing to do as much as we can to put out the best content in regards to our updated rankings. We have plenty of players to talk about before the season begins. With that in mind, let's go to our updated 2024 prospect watch list to talk about some players that have gone under-the-radar in the Garden State.

[player_tooltip player_id='488852' first='Krista' last='Price'] - PF, Passaic Valley

Price found her game inside the arc for Passaic Valley and has been a consistently effective rebounder for some time now. We really like her trajectory for the remainder of her high school career. For someone having this much agility and mobility for a forward is a great sign for the future, meaning more opportunities for her to produce in all facets of the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='488868' first='Brenna' last='Riddell'] - CG, Steinert

What a fantastic defensive player Riddell is, someone who averaged over four steals a game as a sophomore. Add that on with the fact that she can score from a number of different places and in a number of different ways. She's multi-faceted and multi-dimensional in her game, making her tough to guard and tough to score on.

[player_tooltip player_id='489496' first='Ava' last='Rizos'] - PF, Wood-Ridge

A strong, defensive-minded player, Rizos is also the starting keeper on the girls soccer team and has quite a knack for being able to stop possessions and outlet toward the offense to make plays on the other side of the field/floor. Rizos has definitely worked on improving her offense, but a stout combination of scoring and rebounding immediately puts her in the conversation of the best forwards in the area.

[player_tooltip player_id='488854' first='Janessa' last='Rodriguez'] - CG, Passaic Tech

Another guard who has mixed shot selection up well, Rodriguez is finding a grasp for the game quickly, showing massive improvements as a sophomore. With a solid passing skillset and excellent perimeter defense to include in, she's a player who we see as one that will definitely crack our rankings this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='488651' first='Sara' last='Rooney'] - PG, Westfield

Rooney benefits well from playing on a state championship team in Westfield and has a great core of players around her to continue to grow and develop as a player. She got to the foul line quite often for the Blue Devils last season and will be someone who continues to drive into the paint to draw contact to get to the foul line or get a better scoring opportunity.

[player_tooltip player_id='488775' first='Lexi' last='Sears'] - 5-6 PG, Cedar Creek

Sears is finding her groove at Cedar Creek as someone who has shown success in her offensive game as much as her defense and rebounding. What shines the most as a point guard is that key perimeter defense and ability to cause turnovers. Sears knows when to be in the right place at the right time, but how she anticipates where players will go on the floor is even more impressive.

[player_tooltip player_id='488777' first='Angelina' last='Sauls'] - PG, Palmyra

It's all coming together for Sauls after putting up respectable numbers as a sophomore at Palmyra. The passing is looking sharp, her rebounding is up-and-coming, her scoring has broken through and really progressed further. The keys and tool for success are there; Sauls just has to keep working at it to get to that next step.
