The class of 2026 rankings were released this week and we take a look at some of the top guards in the class of 2026.
Taniyah Davis Taniyah Davis 5'8" | PG American Heritage | 2026 State FL (Chaminade Madonna / Florida Lady Huskies) – 5’9 Guard
Ranking: 1
Davis enters the initial class of 2026 rankings at # 1. She is a big, athletic, guard/wing that is extremely skilled and is a prolific scorer. She has consistently been one of the top young players for several years and has college interest from high level / top 25 D1 BCS college programs. On the offensive end, she is mature for her age and she can score on all 3 levels. She is a big time talent that is equally productive as she has potential.
Jaelynn Housey (Chaminade Madonna / Florida Lady Huskies) – 5’9 PG
Ranking: 4
Housey has always been a talented young guard, but her stock has really jumped as she has gotten bigger and stronger. Her body is extremely impressive as she is big, strong, and athletic and very mature for her age. She can compete with players several years older than her and fit right in. Housey can play the PG and the SG position, and consistently looks to be aggressive off the dribble and to score at the rim. Her strong build with broad shoulders allow her to score vs contact and get to the free throw line often.
Kailani Merrell Kailani Merrell 6'0" | PG Spruce Creek | 2026 State FL (Calvary Christian Academy / FGB) – 5’11 Point Guard
Ranking: 7
Merrell is a very tall, talented, skilled guard who is a scoring point guard and one of the top 10 players in the class of 2026. She has good handle, can shoot the 3, and uses her savvy ball skills to get by her defender in the open court and attack downhill. Her 5’11 frame makes her potential stock even higher as there are very few young guards that are pushing 6’0 at her age and could potentially be 6’2+.
Alanna Tatum Alanna Tatum 5'6" | PG University Christian | 2026 State FL (University Christian / East Coast United) – 5’6 PG
Ranking: 10
Tatum was fun to watch this summer due to her quick, strong, athletic PG who can also play off the ball at the SG position. She plays fearlessly and with a very aggressive nature. Do not let her small stature fool you, Tatum is extremely competitive and has a fiery nature. She sets the tone for her team on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor and has 3-point range.
Kailynn Gibson Kailynn Gibson 5'4" | PG iMater | 2026 State FL (imater / Florida Lady Huskies) – 5’4 PG
Ranking: 11
Gibson has been on our radar for several years now. She is a savvy playmaker with a natural scorer’s mentality and can put the ball in the basket in a number of ways. She is at her best attacking in transition. She has several 1v1 moves that she can get by her defender and into the paint to score at the rim. Not just a penetrator, Gibson is a solid outside shooter with 3 point range.
Aubrey Satterfield Aubrey Satterfield 5'8" | SG West Orange | 2026 State FL (Central Florida Christian Academy / J Sizzle) – 5’8 PG
Ranking: 15
Satterfield is a player that I am looking forward to seeing more of. She is a tall, skinny, athletic guard that can play both guard positions and is equally as talented of a scorer as she is a passer. She was injured part of the July exposure period and did not get to see her on the court as much as I would like but in the brief spurts she was on the court, she was highly effective and impactful.
Aubreyanna Montalvo Aubreyanna Montalvo 5'10" | SG SLAM Miami | 2026 State FL (SLAM! Miami / Miami Suns Select) – 5’7 SG
Ranking: 17
Montalvo is a tall, young talented perimeter player that can play the guard and wing spot. Her size is extremely intriguing and matched with her skill makes her a bit time potential prospect. She can shoot the 3, finish with left and right hand and uses her size to finish at the rim over the top of defenders.
