Many of these players gave me my very first look at them, Aniya Joseph Aniya Joseph 6'0" | PF Harlan | 2024 State TX stood out so much that she was recently added to the Top 100 in her class yet her teammate, Jasmin Holt, will make her 2023 debut in a few days.
Jasmin Holt-5’8 PG (Captain John L Chapin) Team Fusion [2023]
Holt goes hard and she’s also physical. She was going completely off and took a lick which would have me out for a few days. She came back a few minutes later and continued her torrid scoring whether it was the pull-up jumper or scoring off the dribble, she creates both under pressure and she has good court vision. She also defends and rebounds
Antronea Robertson-5’11 PG (Willspoint) Platinum ETX National Robertson [2023]
Robertson is “long and athletic” and please remember that is the base, I say that over and over. She handles the ball and sees the floor under pressure, especially in the open court yet watching her either drop the jumper in the set or in transition, was nice, and so was her attacking the basket and finishing yet she gets the hashtag #THRO WBA CK for following her shot, a lost art
Aniya Joseph Aniya Joseph 6'0" | PF Harlan | 2024 State TX -6’0 SF (Harlan) Team Fusion [2024]
Joseph just left me speechless with the variety of ways she consistently scored around the basket. I mentioned she made her debut in the 2024 Top 100 at #26. Her upside is scary, she scores with players literally hanging on her, this included putbacks, and yes she rebounds on both ends. She also has good timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots
Sophia Bustillos-5’8 PG (Riverside) Team Fusion [2024]
Bustillos mixed it up nicely running the 1 and her court vision was among the best at the event. She understands how to run a team and control the tempo, that’s huge, and watching her blistering passes going full speed in transition for assists had me smiling. Her ability to drop the long ball also kept the defenders honest because if you guarded her too tightly, she could attack off the dribble
Ma’Leah Duvall-5’6 G (Harker Heights) House 4 Hoops [2024]
Duvall showed not only her explosiveness off the dribble but her explosive scoring as she dropped 40 from a variety of spots on the court. She can drop the pull-up jumper in the set as well as the stop and pop in transition yet her attacking the basket and finishing after contact, the first step is nice, was one of my highlights at the event
Paris Morris-6’1 PF (Temple) House 4 Hoops [2024]
Morris is long and athletic, she rebounds on both ends, she also did a good job attacking the basket and finishing strongly after the lick. She also has good timing and blocked some shots powerfully, well she rebounded with authority as well. She also showed she could go coast to cast after the rebound and she played the passing lane
Emilee Jones-5’10 PF (Mansfield Timberview) Lady Razorbacks Elite [2024]
Jones used her body very well around the basket, nice hands and footwork played a huge part as she maneuvered multiple ways to score. I also enjoyed watching her “tip-ins” I don’t see that a lot anymore so let me drop #THRO WBA CK for that. She also showed she could stop outside and shoot it, knocking down both mid and long-range jumper
Reagan Coddington-6’0 SF (Marcus) Texas Lonestar 16U Gold [2024]
Coddington is “long and athletic” and let me say one more time that is the base. Her intangibles are playing the passing lane as well as defending both inside and outside the paint. She also did a good job setting the defender up using a deceptive first step which enabled her to score off the dribble. She also showed she could score from mid to long-range
Kamarie Hardeman-5’11 PF (Waxahachie) Hunt United 16U National [2025]
Hardeman created her shot under pressure and knocked it down with a hand in her face numerous times. She understands how to use her athleticism to her advantage and her first step also created problems for the defender as she scored off the dribble with either hand but her “on the ball” defense also stood out
