I watch plenty of players, it doesn’t take me long to know what I’m looking at because one more time, I am a REAL EVALUATOR who also keeps it real, with no agenda whatsoever and here you go
Alisha Nunley-5’5 PG (LD Bell) DFW Lady Magic [2023]
Nunley was listed with a different number and I had to verify she was who I thought she was. I’m glad I caught her in action previously because it would have been a grave injustice to her after her spectacular performance. I tweeted earlier in the season she was one of the most underrated guards in Texas, she’s athletic, and scores off the dribble yet is a highlight waiting to happen in the open court. Her ballhandling, zig-zagging by defenders going full speed, is exciting yet her court vision adds even more. She scores off the dribble and knocks down the jumper, plus she plays the passing lane
Christina Davis Christina Davis 6'1" | PF Mansfield | 2023 TX -6’2 C (Mansfield) Team Lex 17U [2023]
Davis stands above “the magic number” which is 6’0 if you haven’t been paying attention. It’s one of the profiles I use because college coaches contact me about players who have size, sometimes even after school has started. She uses her body well around the basket, she also did a good job scoring from the wing and finishing after contact
Nashia Coleman–5’5 PG (Midlothian) Team Lex 17U [2023
Coleman mixed up offensively by using a deceptive first step to attack the rim just about whenever she wanted and even more importantly, she finished after the lick. She also created her shot under pressure and dropped it with a hand in her face. On top of all that, she did something I love seeing and that was playing the passing lane
Jazmyn Johnson-5’4 SG (Robert E Lee) Lady West Texas Blazers [2023]
Johnson and her “on the ball” defense was smothering and helped create turnovers yet she flipped the switch with a blink of an eye. She scored off the dribble, first step was hard to handle, yet so was her pull-up jumper as she dropped it while being defended, and let me add she played the passing lane
Navaeh Watson-5’6 PG (Ranchview) DFW Lady Magic [2024]
Watson attacked the basket relentlessly and finished after contact numerous times. Her first step got everything going and she used either hand to get to the rim but she also showed the pull-up jumper and did a good job defensively
Savannah Gaines-5’7 SF (Cleburne) Team Strive White {2024]
Gaines cleaned up the boards nicely as she battled for everything off the rim. She understands how to use her body and get positioning which enabled her to outrebound taller players, she also scored around the basket against taller players, and with her height, that deserves the #THROWBACK hashtag. She also scored in the clutch, multiple ways including from the outside
Akira Chambers-5’10 C (Cleburne) Team Strive White [2024]
Chambers also used her body well and showed some nice moves around the basket using solid “hands and footwork” to get the job done. She also rebounded on both ends of the court, she ran the floor and played solid defense, both inside and outside the paint. She also has very good upside
Marlee Howard-5’10 SF (S&S) Lady Stangs Black [2024]
Howard is “long and athletic” and although I say it all the time, for many it doesn’t register that it’s the base. She scored off the dribble and finished after the lick numerous times but she also did a good job rebounding on both ends and finishing on putbacks. She defends and has good timing to block shots
Natalie Alday- 5’6 SG (Legacy) Lady West Texas Blazers [2024]
Alday was overly impressive in not only controlling the tempo and seeing the floor, she understands how to create her shot very well. Her pull-up jumper is legit, she showed it in the set as well as in transition and her dropping the mid to long-range was something to see because she can turn it on with a blink of an eye and score in droves
Evelyn Bruce-5’11 PF (Liberty Hill) Centex Attack HS [2025]
Bruce battled for everything off the rim, yeah I enjoy seeing that because it’s a lost art and deserves #THROWBACK but she does a lot more. She uses her athleticism, long and athletic is the base, and her attacking the basket as well as dropping the pull-up jumper spoke volumes, especially when you factor in her court vision
Saylor Bourland-5’7 PG (Vista Ridge) Centex Attack HS [2025]
Bourland saw the floor as good as anyone at the event and her handling of the ball under pressure was very nice. She can score as well as dish attacking the basket, yet her pull-up jumper, including the “stop and pop” in transition, was effective. I also enjoyed her on the ball defense and yes, she played the passing lane
