SubscribeThe Fall season is off and running. Between AAU, open gyms, showcases, expos and fall leagues, I have seen a lot of basketball so far this fall. Here is 5 player who have caught my eyes so far this Fall.
Sopko is know for her lights out shooting, and that is just what I have seen this fall. She is a pure shooter, and always a threat from the outside. She is diversifying her offensive game, and becoming a three level scorer. She can now attack the hard closeout, get in the lane or dish it out to a teammate on the wing. Sopko is a smart sharp shooting combo guard. I can’t wait to watch her this season on the Rivers team.
Highlights
Meili is know for her defense. She plays very tough on that side of the ball, and has good lateral moments on defense. She has a good stance, rarely lets a player get passed her, and is good at cutting off angles for players to drive. She is versatility on defense and can guard multiple positions. Every coach loves a player who can get stops and loves to play D. On offense she can create plays for her self and for others. She is effective playing on or off the ball, and can play at multiple paces.
Highlights
Maddie is a pass first guard, who is really good at getting her teammates involved and reading the defense. She is a good passer with good court vision. She can also really shoot it. On defense she is active on jumping the passing lanes, and is good rotating in the correct positions. I have liked what I have seen so far this fall from maddie.
Last weekend Parker’s Middlesex Magic team went 4-0. She also performed well at a few showcases this fall. She is a true point guard, with a high basketball IQ, and great court vision. She is also a very confident shooter. She can run the floor, and plays with high energy on defense. She really performed well at the Babson select event.
Hill is a very skilled player, with a good all around skill set. She is a true threes level scorer and has a lot of potential. She can score in the lane off one or 2 feet, and also shoots the ball well from the outside. She finishes with both hands, and I have seen her make tough finishes at the rim. She plays with high energy for the entire game long, and just never slows down. Hill is still young but is on track to be a scholarship level player.
