Standing at 6-foot, 2-inches Nessa is a strong, long center with size and quick instincts. She uses her size to bang in the paint in offense, and protect the rim on defense. She can play with her back to the basket and operate in the high-post effectively. She has quick hands-on defense and she knows how to get steals and deflections.
Hailey is a player I was surprised wasn’t already on the rankings. She is an active player that plays strong and under control. Her bread and butter is using her body to get position down low and finish at the rim. Hailey does the little things that make a big difference on the court. She is a willing passer and plays with her head up to find the open teammate. She is aggressive towards the rim and can hit the outside shot. Defensively, Hailey is in a class of her own. She moves her feet really well, and can guard multiple positions. When she is in help-side, jumping the passing lane and creating offense opportunities for herself in the break is very common. I like her game and she is a huge part of the success at Charles Page High School.
Madeline is a guard that plays with swag and heart. She is locked in and works hard on both ends of the court. Her swag is her confidence – she knows what she is doing and plays under control. She is a shooter with range beyond the 3-point line and she will pull it in rhythm off the catch, in transition or off the dribble. She handles the ball good and can switch from shooting guard to point guard effortlessly and knows how to make plays for herself and teammates. She has good size and I expect her to receive offers to play college, and whoever she decides to play for will be gaining a high-quality player.
Highlights
Mady is a solid player that fell under the radar from us last year. I was able to watch a few highlights from her and I was very impressed. She is a strong player and will work for position in the paint and once she gets the ball she will bang and finish with ease. Her footwork gives her the advantage because she knows how to maneuver around and over the defense. She is a smart player that will not force the issue and she is aware of her surroundings when she catches the ball. She can shoot the mid-range jumper and can also hit the outside shot when needed. She sets solid screens, will roll to open spots, and finishes strong. I like Mady and college programs need to know about her.
Highlights
Kayla is another player that fell under the radar last season but, I am glad to write about. She has a knack for locating rebounds when shots go up, and seem to be in the right place at the right time. She has good size and when locked in, she uses it to her advantage in the paint. Kayla seals her defender well and usually has good position when she catches it, and uses her footwork to score. She is a ready shooter that hits the short corner shot and can knock down the outside shot as well. Kayla had a good AAU season and I was able to catch her on the PGH Circuit. I look for her to finish her first season at Norman High School and continue to make a name for herself this year. Kayla currently holds offers for Oklahoma Christian, Southern Nazarene, and Eastern Oklahoma State College.
