Our list has increased by a few dozen for the sophomore class and for the most part, our Top 10 has remained unchanged. Here’s a look at the No. 6-10 prospects in the 2025 class in NJ as determined by the PGH NJ team.
No. 6: Reese Downey Reese Downey 5'7" | PG Absegami | 2025 State NJ – 5-6 PG, Absegami
Downey is a special talent and one that gets overlooked playing in South Jersey. She can absolutely ball out amongst the best of them and is the backbone of this Absegami team, one that has remained competitive in the Cape-Atlantic League. For starters, she averaged 16.4 PPG, 4 APG, 4.5 SPG and was knocking down close to 3 three-pointers a game as a freshman. Her ball-handling skills are incredible and her pure scoring ability is off-the-charts. We’re beyond excited to watch her play as a sophomore.
No. 7: Jasmin McKay Jasmin McKay 5'5" | CG Roselle Catholic | 2025 State NJ – PG, Roselle Catholic
McKay handled herself well at the top of the key for Roselle Catholic and was an absolute baller on the court as a freshman, making her presence felt quite often inside the lane. Having made over 100 free throws last season, she was drawing contact and trying to get points the tough way. Let’s just say it was more than effective for the guard, who averaged 16.8 PPG last season. Her game was concentrated as that inside-the-perimeter player, but let’s not forget about a player who averaged nearly four steals a game as a defender. She can really do it all on the floor.
No. 8: Macie McCracken Macie McCracken 5'8" | CG Wildwood | 2025 State NJ – 5-6 CG, Wildwood
Following in the footsteps of what her sister was able to accomplish at Wildwood, McCracken has gotten off to a lightning-fast start already. The guard dominated offensively as one of the best pure scorers and shooters in the 2025 class, while becoming a reliable and effective defensive asset at the same time. McCracken averaged 15.4 PPG and roughly 45 percent of her offense came from beyond the arc, knocking down 65 total threes on the season. She can shoot and create at the same time, or can get crafty and get things going while driving into the lane. Her bag of tricks is endless.
No. 9: Alyssa Stridiron Alyssa Stridiron 5'6" | CG St. Dominic | 2025 State NJ – PG, St. Dominic
Despite St. Dominic not having the success it was looking for last season, Stridiron made an immediate impact and a name for herself as a freshman. The go-to scorer for SDA, she dominated down the stretch, averaging 15.1 PPG in her final seven games of the season and averaging 14.2 PPG as a whole. Her passing looked great and looked like something that will continue to improve, averaging 2.3 assists a game. The same goes for her perimeter defense where she recorded 2.2 steals a game. Having the attention all on her is going to make Stridiron that much better of a player over time.
No. 10: Nal’La Bennett Nal’La Bennett 5'8" | SG Timber Creek | 2025 PA – 5-8 SG, Timber Creek
Our third South Jersey player ranked in the Top 10, Bennett impressed big time in her first season at Timber Creek, showcasing great shooting and scoring abilities, fantastic court vision and court awareness, and a grit that is truly unmatched. Starting with her shooting and scoring, she’s one who can knock down multiple threes a game while still being able to carve defenses out inside the lane as she looks to get a quick bucket on a drive or in transition. She’s one of the best up-and-coming passers in South Jersey and she’s quick and agile on the court, allowing her to pick off or deflect passes often.
