Illinois’s top shooters, playmakers, scorers, defenders, and overall talent will be on show. 4 hours of organized 5-on-5 to show scouts and college coaches how deeply talented they are.
Below are the top sophomores of the day.
Marlie can score at all levels and defend multiple postiions if needed.. however its the energy and effort on the boards that stuck out to me. She knows how to use her size, to get where she needs to go or to complexly disrupt an offense. Wether its on the drive or to grab a rebound.. the aggression is there and Marlie is hard to deal with.
Highlights
Sherpits has the classic textbook high arc release and it’s usually all net when its put up. She can attack the rim, knockdown the mid and or consistently knock down the long ball. Solid vision and her overall length allows her to play and guard 1-3. Creative and strong with her handle as well. She has a fluid and simple game.. that leaves a heavy impact.
Highlights
Efficiency and confidence is what I notice when Sedillo plays. She can create her own shot just as well as she can for others. A three level scorer, who knows how to use her strength to make things difficult for her matchup on both sides of the ball. Earlier this year I spoke on how Sedillo is coming to her own..after she had a tremendous second half HS game. Well… I believe she’s arrived as one of the top talents in her class and she is only getting better.
Highlights
Roya is a plug and play guard.. and thats a type that is needed by every coach. She can play as the main facilitator and use her length to thread long passes, or see something over her defenders head. Tremendous IQ and vision. On the scoring side, her athleticism, patience & ball handling are key factors on how she gets her buckets all levels. The ability to put up consistent double doubles or assist heavy games this season at Latin aren’t far from reach.
Highlights
Easily known as one of 2025’s best players, Davorija has all the tools to be consistent, efficient and a constant threat on both sides of the ball. Handles are tight, IQ is sharp, and her feel for the game allows her to distribute and facilitate with little to no mistakes. She plays off of great instinct and poise. A top tier player and high potential type of talent.
Big Thompson showed up at the expo and clearly put on a show. The moves, the length, the feel and confidence towards the game Ellie displays is top notch. She can create for herself at all levels on anyone.. she can score or facilitate against multiple positions. A deep bag of patience, sharp ball handling and high IQ decisions. Her gambles are high reward, low risk and that proves to the consistency she shows on every possession that touches her hand. She can score with fluidity, and or creativity.. she gets the job done. Fremd is loaded with young talent, and the programs future is in great hands.
