I couldn’t watch every game at the Champions Center last Sunday, so I watched the rest of the games I missed, and there were kids I didn’t see then whose games I liked. So let’s talk about a few of them.
Savanna Robinson Savanna Robinson 5'8" | SG Kaukauna | 2025 State WI
The now sophomore had an incredible freshman season, earning over 20 starts at Kaukauna, and it was easy to understand why on Sunday. She makes things happen both directly and indirectly. She pushes the ball up the floor, finds open teammates, shoots the ball well, attacks the basket, and rebounds well for a guard. She does the things coaches love, and that’s why she played a load of minutes for a competitive team in the FVA.
Adahlyn Hoerl Adahlyn Hoerl 5'10" | CG Chilton WI | 2025 State WI
Highlights
The thing that stands out about Hoerl is that she’s a four-and-one hybrid. She has the strength of a forward and can mix it up in the paint, but she also handles the ball like a guard. In particular, I love how she attacks the basket. She doesn’t need to have many moves. All she needs to do is attack the shoulder of her defender. When she gets into the paint, she can finish with either hand and makes it look easy. She has time to round out her offensive game, but I like that she already has a simple way to break down defenses.
Highlights
The incoming Brookfield East freshman has a lot of skill. She can handle the ball, shoot, create, defend, and score from all three levels. Some of the dribble pull-ups she took were nuts. She looks like a blur when she looks to score in the mid-range area. That ability to create and put the ball in the basket can break games open, and if things break right for her this season, she could play a prominent role in the Spartans’ season.
Lola Prendergast Lola Prendergast 5'7" Oak Creek | 2024 WI
I saw Prendergast late in the AAU season, and she did a great job playing chess with defenses. On the catch, she kept defenders guessing. She has an average release, it’s not fast or slow, but her ball fake keeps her defenders grounded. Close out on her too slow, and she’ll make a 3-pointer. Closeout too fast, and she’ll get by that defender and score in the mid-range or at the basket.
