She is quick, intense, and highly skilled. Ijiwoye plays aggressive in your grill defense. It’s almost like she dares opposing point guards to attempt to use their handles to try and get by her. Offensively, she can shoot it from the perimeter, zoom by her defenders for layups and find open teammates. She is exceptional at hunting the paint, and creating easy opportunities for her team to score. ESPN has Ijiwoye currently ranked as the 52nd best prospect in the nation and I anticipate her to continue to climb the ladder on that list.
4) 5’9 G Elli Guiney Elli Guiney 5'9" | CG Millennium | 2024 State AZ (Millennium): Guiney has rose all the way to the number four spot in Arizona after receiving Division-1 offers from Navy, Princeton, UNLV, and Southern Utah. Offensively, Guiney is as good as it comes. She can handle pressure, she can shoot it from 3, she can finish through contact in the paint, and dish it to open teammates. The thing that sticks out most to me about Guiney is her footwork and ball fakes. At times she resembles Celtics great Larry Bird with her pump fakes into midrange jumpers and offensive rebounds into up and under layups. Guiney is a super talented off-guard and she is getting division-1 offers for a reason.
8) 5’8 G Ysabel Puente Ysabel Puente 5'7" | CG Dream City Christian | 2024 State AZ (Dream City Christian): Puente has cracked the top prospects in the state of Arizona after an outstanding AAU season and transferring to Dream City Christian. Puente is as good as it comes at the floor general position. She can handle pressure, lead a fastbreak, find open teammates, shoot it from 3, and finish through contact in the lane. Defensively, Puente is a smart defender and chooses the right times to jump passing lanes for steals. Division 2 schools Northwest Nazarene University and Southern Nazarene University have showed interest in Puente. I anticipate Puente picking up division-1 offers playing on a national team this school year in Dream City Christian.
9) 5’9 G Mia Singstock Mia Singstock 5'9" | SF Pinnacle | 2024 State AZ (Pinnacle): Singstock is a top scoring guard in the class of 2024. She can put up numbers in a hurry, averaging 16 points a game as a sophomore last year. Singstock is exceptional at using her body to get in front of her defenders to gain an advantage with the ball in her hands. After she gets in front of you, it’s almost always game over because she finishes in the lane so well. With that being said, you can’t sag off Singstock because she is a lights-out shooter from three. Singstock is one of the best off-ball guards in the class of 2024. I anticipate her stock to continue to rise over the next year.
10) 6’2 C Katelyn Best Katelyn Best 6'3" | C Northwest Christian | 2024 State AZ (Southern AZ Prep): Best is one of the best post prospects in Arizona. Best has really good footwork in the paint and loves to finish at the rim. She has a really smooth baby hook she uses in the lane to finish through contact. Best also has the ability to knock down mid-range jumpers and handle the ball in transition. Defensively, Best will wall-up with the best of them. She uses her size and length well to hold down the paint. This year she will be playing alongside Texas-Tech commit Achol Magot Achol Magot 6'5" | C Southern Arizona Prep | 2023 State AZ and I can only anticipate Best to get better and better going up against one of the best centers in practice everyday.
11) 6’1 W/F Thalia Daniels Thalia Daniels 6'0" | SF Sandra Day | 2024 State AZ (Sandra Day OC): Daniels is one of the top stock-risers in the class of 2024 and I don’t think she is done yet. At 6’1 she plays the stretch-four but she is also capable of playing on the wing. Her length and quickness allows her to guard any position on the court. Daniels is a lights-out shooter from 3 and is a very tough match-up for opposing teams. If you put a big on her, she’s going to kill you from 3 but if you put a smaller guard on her she will score over her in the paint. Daniels is a prospect with a lot of untapped potential and I’m anticipating a breakout season from her.
13) 5’8 W Maureen Ulrich Maureen Ulrich 5'8" | SF Xavier College Prep | 2024 State AZ (Xavier College Prep): Ulrich is one of the best wing prospects in the state of Arizona. She is a perfect 3-and-D prospect for college programs. Offensively, you can not leave her open as she will torch you from the perimeter. Defensively, she guards the opposing teams best player. One thing that sticks out about Ulrich is her ability to rebound the ball at the guard position. As a sophomore she averaged 7 rebounds a game for a top Xavier College Prep program. Ulrich is as tough as it comes in Arizona girls basketball and I anticipate her stock to rise more continuing to play for one of the best schools in the state.
15) 5’11 W/F Breanna Sommers Breanna Sommers 5'11" | PF Hamilton | 2024 State AZ (Hamilton): Sommers is a good wing/post prospect in the class of 2024. She can shoot it from the perimeter as well as handle her own in the paint. She is really tough to guard when she is used in the pick and roll or pick and pop situation because she has that versatility to knock down shots from 3 as well as roll to the basket for a layup. Sommers also rebounds the ball very well. I anticipate Sommers having a breakout season this year for Hamilton.
16) 5’4 G Meisha Caserio Meisha Caserio 5'4" | PG Gilbert | 2024 State AZ (Gilbert): Caserio is one of the best point guards in the state of Arizona. Playing on a highly competitive Gilbert team, Caserio will be the nucleus of their squad. As a sophomore Caserio averaged 13pts, 4rbs and 4asts a game. She is a crafty finisher in the lane and is able to weave her way through traffic in the lane to score at the rim. Caserio also has the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter. Defensively, Caserio is aggressive and likes to pressure her opponents into turnovers. Look for Caserio to continue to grow as one of the best point guards in the class of 2024.
20) 5’11 W/F Ava Pautz Ava Pautz 5'11" | SF Notre Dame Prep | 2024 State AZ (Notre Dame Prep): Pautz is one of the more athletic and versatile prospects in the class of 2024. She is capable of both playing in the post as well as on the wing. She is a lot quicker than most of her opponents with her height and is able to squeeze past them for easy layups. In the post she utilizes a nice baby hook and drop step move that she finishes with high frequency. Defensively, Pautz is really good at getting steals and she also has the capability of going coast-coast for layups. As a sophomore Pautz averaged 15pts and 10rbs a game. Look for Pautz to continue to put up double-double numbers during her junior season.
