There’ll be more placed on Timm’s shoulders at DSHA this season, with some roster shakeups. However, she’s capable of handling the extra responsibility. I believe that Timm was primed for a big month of July until an injury kept her out of action. The junior can manage the volume, but the consistency of her performances has been the issue. Being a 5-foot-11 combo guard who can initiate the offense, score from all three levels, and athletically play with elite talent make her a kid with a high ceiling. Following a run in the postseason last year and an excellent few months in AAU, I expect her to have a good junior campaign.
Lindsey Schadewalt Lindsey Schadewalt 5'10" | SG New Glarus | 2024 State WI
Highlights
New Glarus nearly made the state tournament as a five-seed in D4 last season, and a large portion of that has to do with how skilled Schadewalt is right now. The wing seems to have counters to everything a defense throws at her and has a comfort level on the floor that few others have. Schadewalt plays her game regardless of the score and never forces anything. She may not be the flashiest player in the 2024 class, but she’s been one of the most effective.
Reagan Briggs Reagan Briggs 5'9" | SG Verona | 2024 State WI
The Verona product was on the team that made the state tournament in the Covid year, which was already two years ago. However, last season an injury to Taylor Stremlow Taylor Stremlow 5'8" | PG Verona | 2024 State WI changed the roles of the kids on the team, and that loss of talent, in the end, made it more difficult for them to return to the state tournament. However, now the Wildcats are fully healthy and have some players in the 26 and 25 classes to support the upper-class talent. If you can think back to that sectional championship group, Briggs was their leading scorer. I think she’s at her best as a secondary playmaker because she can handle the ball, attack, and knock down perimeter jumpers. Look for her to cause defense issues on the weak side this season.
Lilly Meulemans Lilly Meulemans 5'8" | PG Appleton East | 2025 State WI
Highlights
Opportunity is plentiful at Appleton East after the Patriots graduated four starters and some other role players. Meulemans can learn from St. Thomas commit Sammi Beyer Sammi Beyer 5'7" | CG Appleton East | 2023 State WI and play against some of the top talent in the state in the FVA. The two-sport athlete can handle the ball, and with her 5-foot-9 size, she’ll be able to shoot over some of the shorter guards she’ll have defending her this season. Beyer will make this team difficult to beat on her own, but Meulemans’ development will determine how competitive this team will be this season.
