I had a chance to catch a very talented Allen team on Friday, Simone Richmond Simone Richmond 5'7" | CG Allen | 2026 State TX made my 2026 Watch and I decided to do something special on their Top Performers, many of who I haven’t seen in 2 or 3 seasons yet will be added and (or) upgraded on next Top 100 update for their respective classes
Alana Goosby Alana Goosby 5'7" | CG Allen | 2023 State TX -5’6 CG [2023]
Goosby scored off the dribble multiple ways yet her body control on her finishes which included after contact was nice. She also created her shot under pressure and dropped the jumper yet on the flip, her “on the ball” defense was smothering. She also has quick hands and came away with steals plus her court vision was impressive
Alexis Cortez Alexis Cortez 5'10" | SF Allen | 2023 State TX -5’11 SG/SF [2023]
Cortez scored both off t dribble as well as using the jumper and she knocked it down with a hand in her face. She’s strong and attacks from multiple angles and the contact were irrelevant. She also rebounded on both ends, even handled the ball the length of the court to score or dish after grabbing the ball off the rim
Raimi McCrary Raimi McCrary 6'0" | PF Allen | 2023 State TX -6’0 PF [2023]
Mccrary showed me even more than when I caught her at the PGH Top 250 expo last season. She was immediately added to the Top 100 after that performance yet what she did and the way she did it had me smiling. She attacks the basket relentlessly and she can sh can overpower defenders in the paint plus her mid to long-range was effective
Bri Bowden Bri Bowden 6'3" | C Allen | 2023 State TX -6’2 C [2023]
Bowden showed not only some nice moves around the basket but also faced it and scored facing it. Her putbacks from offensive rebounds were solid, yes she rebounded on both ends and she also showed some nice interior defense
Aryn Roberts Aryn Roberts 5'11" | PF Allen | 2024 State TX -5’11 PF [2024]
Roberts used her body well inside the paint, her “hands and footwork” gets the #THROWBACK hashtag but her impressive first step was hard to handle as she got to the basket whenever and however she wanted, fishing with either hand. She plays good “on the ball” defense and rebounded on both ends
Skye Pepp Skye Pepp 5'7" | PG Allen ISD | 2024 State TX -5’7 CG [2024]
Pepp has always had that “PEPP in her step” but watching her control the tempo and running her team were some of the many things that stood out. She uses her athleticism on both ends, scoring acrobatically off the dribble as well as applying baseline-to-baseline heat defensively. Her mid to long-range was one of the things that attracted me when I initially caught her a few years ago, nothing has changed, well the range is deeper
Mahogany Jackson-Walker Mahogany Jackson-Walker 5'6" | CG (Griffith, IN) | 2024 TX [2024]
Jackson-Walker is an athletic guard that simply shows she can come in and “fill it up”. Her jumper is smooth, the release is fluid and she gets it off whenever she wants. partly because she can elevate over the outstretched hands of defenders yet another part is the “catch and shoot” was nice
