Ady Ketterhagen Ady Ketterhagen 5'9" | PG Oostburg | 2026 State WI
Oostburg is an interesting case, they have plenty of talent, but their best players are seniors and freshmen, so they began the season with a tough loss to a good Laconia team. However, since then, the Dutch have won seven in a row and have six consecutive conference wins to start the year. In D3, there may not be a more talented lead guard than Ketterhagen. She’s athletic and dynamic with the ball. Don’t be surprised if she makes a name for herself late in the high school season.
Olivia Olson Olivia Olson 5'8" | PG Cuba City | 2025 State WI
The sophomore from Cuba City is someone who can be a bit out of sight of mind during the high school season. She’s tucked away in the southwest corner of Wisconsin, and most people won’t see her, but she can flat-out play. In D4, she’s gone toe-to-toe with traditional powers and hasn’t budged. All she did this summer was get better and improve, and it’s shown this season. Cuba City is a team to watch in the postseason because of Olson.
Eliana Sheplee Eliana Sheplee 5'10" | SG Rice Lake | 2024 State WI
In a one-game shootout, every coach wants a player like Sheplee. The older Sheplee can make plays than most kids in the country can’t because they aren’t half the athlete she is, and she’s shown an improved offensive arsenal. Teams won’t be able to bank on their best defender to be able to stay in front of her because if you haven’t seen her move in person, there’s no way to prepare for her. It makes it more challenging because she’s added more variety to her game, and if she can hurt you from the perimeter, good luck slowing her down.
For the first time in a few years, Hortonville lost an FVA conference game. There’s no shame in it, but it’ll be a wake-up call for the Polar Bears this season, and I expect them to respond in kind and go on a tear. However, I think a big part of them reaching their potential is trusting Funk’s shooting. In Minnesota against Minnetonka, they separated themselves when the Polar Bears got Funk the ball after chaotic situations when she had time and space. The more defenses have to keep her accounted for, the more room the other four players on the court have to operate.
