The games included a Lowell victory against Midland Dow, a Butler Prep victory against Arbor Prep, and a Bolingbrooke win against Westfield Prep. Let’s take a 3rd look at some powerful players from these 3 games.
If you want to talk about a player steadily improving throughout their high school career, Jackson is a shining example of just that. Every time I see her play, her game looks more and more refined. She’s an athletic guard that can attack the defense. Jackson was a playmaker on Saturday, creating off the bounce and finding her teammates. She showed the ability to go with either hand at the Holiday Classic.
Highlights
Walton turned a lot of heads at the Best of Michigan Holiday Classic. She’s a very confident shooter, and has every right to be. Walton can bury a triple both off the dribble and off the catch. She does a great job creating separation in order to get her shot off. Walton seemed to have very good positional strength and a great feel for the game.
Highlights
Wallace influenced the game on both ends of the floor for Arbor Prep. Let’s start with her defense. Her team needed stops, and Wallace responded. She did a great job of playing denial defense on the perimeter and not letting scorers catch the ball cleanly. Wallace was feeling her jumper for much of the game as well. I know she hit at least 3 triples. Wallace showed off a solid spin move that led to a bucket as well.
Dalton Deboer
Dalton Deboer
Deboer was solid and really proved that she’s a player to keep a eye on as the season moves forward. She started to groove her jumper hitting 3’s from both the corner and from the wing. Deboer showed off solid positional strength and some very real toughness.
Jasmine Jones
Jasmine Jones
Jones was a difference maker in her team’s victory against Westfield Prep. She was very active around the rim and played through contact. Jones earned high percentage looks at the rim and was able to get to the free throw line as well. She even showed off the range on her jumper by burying a catch and shoot triple from the top.
