Brenna Burk Brenna Burk 5'6" | PG Russellville | 2024 State AR | PG | Russellville | 2024
Of all the point guards I saw on day 1, Brenna might have been the most skilled. She’s a smooth point guard that can attack off the bounce with either hand, she shoots the catch and three ball well, pushes the ball well in transition, finishes at the rim in traffic and plays hard on defense. Her on ball defense and anticipation skills off the ball was impressive. She’s a good example of what you want in a point guard. Brenna is tough, plays with energy, and exhibits confidence in herself and her teammates.
Nicholette Nelson | Forward | Hot Springs | 2024
Nicholette really impressed me with her ability to finish around the rim over defenders and through contact. She often found herself in the right place at the right time. Majority of her baskets came from finding weak spots in the defense and being able to catch and finish. Nicholette did show that she can drive the ball hard from the high post and finish at the rim, she runs the floor, uses her length on defense and rebounds the ball well.
Annalise Stanford | PG | Hot Springs | 2024
Now if you want to talk about old school, throwback, true point guards, then look no further than Annalise. She is the perfect example of “make your teammates better”. Her vision and passing ability was on point during her game. Seeing her teammates as they are cutting and delivering on-target passes were impressive. Annalise also did something that will go unnoticed. Her ability to pass ahead to her teammates running the floor was huge for them to get easy baskets. A lot of point guards would want to dribble down the floor but Annalise made the pass ahead to the wing player or the big running the floor for the easy score.
BethAnn Mullenix | Wing | Hot Springs | 2025
BethAnn is long. She stood around 6’0 and was a threat from the three point line. Players like her are dangerous because she stretches the defense and creates long closeouts which will give her the opportunity to drive in straight lines to the basket. During the game I saw she hit multiple threes from the corner. Her size gave her the ability to shoot over smaller defender and with a hand in her face.
Ashauni Corley Ashauni Corley 5'8" | CG Episcopal Collegiate | 2023 State AR | Guard | Episcopal Collegiate | 2023
Ashauni is a guard that is going to get after you on both ends of the floor. She’s going to pressure the ball and play the passing lanes on defense and on offense, she’s going to attack hard off the bounce and is a threat from the three point line. Ashauni is going to do what she do. She’s a threat from the three point line, she’s deadly from mid-range, and she can get to the rim.
Elois Moore | Wing | Episcopal Collegiate | 2026
When you talk about players that will play hard on both ends, you have to mention Elois. Only a freshman, she just plays with so much energy that she finds herself being successful on the floor. Whether it’s going after rebounds, her on-ball defense, her help defense, running the floor, or attacking the basket, Elois is going to make plays for her team.
Lainey Tippen Lainey Tippen 5'4" | PG Hamburg | 2024 State AR | PG | Hamburg | 2024
I love someone that can shoot. If you play the point and can shoot then I’m going to really love your game. If you play the point and can shoot and pass, then you have a fan. Lainey was really impressive with her shooting, passing and overall IQ of the game. She didn’t just make good passes, her passes were on point. This was my first time seeing her play and I will go out on a limb and say she know the offense inside and out and knew exactly where her teammates were supposed to be. This led to some of the passes she made. Also, she was impressive with knowing when to throw an air pass vs a bounce pass, how much heat to put on it vs passing with touch. Is there anything better than a scoring point guard who is a willing passer? I don’t think so.
Zaniya Mooney | Post | Hamburg | 2025
Zaniya was a banger. A player that controlled the paint. She dominated the interior with her rebounding on both ends and her interior scoring. Zaniya stayed active on offense. She was in constant motion and often found herself in the perfect position for the offensive rebound or to receive a pass for the easy score. She was versatile enough to work out of the high post or low block. Zaniya also ran the floor well and provided good help defense.
