Brooklyn Wong
Wong doesn’t have any notes by her name, just an abundance of stars because that’s what I’m seeing in her future. Her poise under pressure and her ability to handle the ball as well as create her shot, also under pressure is ahead of her years. The jumper, mid to long rage, is already high school ready but she attacks from everywhere and finishes strongly. She also has good court vision and defended well
Amanda Rossini
Rossini immediately caught my eye during the skills because of her defense and to show me I wasn’t seeing a mirage, that same intensity translated over to the 5 on 5. She did a good job creating her shot to either attack the basket or shoot the jumper, yet her body control while attacking was nice, and so were her passes as she saw the floor well
Julia Kern
Kern created her shot so well during the skills that I couldn’t wait to see her in the game situation. I wasn’t disappointed as she used a deceptive first step to attack off the dribble yet she also got her shot off while being defended and let it go with a hand in her face. She showed the pull-up jumper in transition and she also did a good job defending “on the ball”
Rylie Patrick
Patrick has good size and showed agility around the basket as she scored multiple ways including putbacks, yes, she rebounded on both ends. Her jumper is nice, in transition, she showed the “stop and pop” but she also created her shot in the set. She elevates and releases at the right time, she even dropped the long ball but her handling the ball coast to coast as well as her TIMING to block shots JUST DID IT for me
Jordan Erickson
Erickson smoothly showed she knock down the jumper in the skills yet she also did it during the 5 on 5. She understands how to create her shot and create spacing to drop either the mid or long-range jumper. Her step back was nice, in fact, she used a slight head fake to attack the basket from multiple angles. On top of all of that, she showed she could “catch and shoot”
Kynsley Goodsell
Goodsell sold me in the skillset by not only creating her shot while being defended but knocking it down. She did the same thing during the games yet she also played within herself and didn’t force shots. I also enjoyed her attacking the basket numerous times, from multiple angles and she did a good job of not only defending but showed timing to block shots
Sophia Bowie
Bowie’s upside is something else because she goes hard on both ends, no matter what the score is, that’s something you can’t teach. She’s athletic, her on-the-ball defense is tough yer her attacking the basket with a powerful first step and finishing strongly after contact had me smiling. She created her shot and handled the ball under pressure
Mia Zuniga [2029]
Zuniga blended in nicely and I had forgotten she was one of the youngest players there. She showed me a lot at the Simmie Colson Classic last year and even more as she’s even more poised, the range has gotten deeper and her variety of moves, including the HEZ, step back, as well as her COP, change of pace, made her hard to defend. Her comprehension is years ahead of her age, HUGE upside
Tomi Onuwaje [2029]
Onuwaje was another player that blended in with the older players and her athleticism as well as being under control with the ball was overly impressive. Her explosiveness off the dribble is something else, she even cuffed it attacking the basket but she also saw the floor and dropped the jumper from outside. She defends baseline to baseline, has quick hands, and came away with some steals, one more time #sizedontmatter when you can play
