As conference season continues on and each match gets more and more intense. Here are 5 guards that caught my eye last week.
Jamaria Freeman Jamaria Freeman 5'6" | CG NC GBB | 2025 State NC | 5-6 | 2025| Guard | Fike High School
Freeman is the orchestrator of the Fike attack. She consistently pushes the ball with poise, never seeming in a rush. When she is in the half court, she can shoot the ball with 3-point range, and if you play too close she can drive to the basket where she is not afraid to create for herself or for her teammates. She also has a good mid-range game.
Jewel Brewington | 5-2 | 2025| Guard | Fike High School
Brewington is a dynamite player that if you have not heard about her you definitely will soon. Partnering with the aforementioned Jamaria Freeman Jamaria Freeman 5'6" | CG NC GBB | 2025 State NC to form a potent backcourt, she is lightning quick and she finishes well around the rim. She also has 3 point range on her jumper with a quick release and plenty of confidence. She is one to watch in the Class of 2025.
Lea Morgan | 5-4 | 2026 | Guard | Wake Christian Academy
Lea Morgan is a player from the Class of 2026 that needs to be on your radar. The guard has tremendous ability and room to continue to grow. She paces her Wake Christian Bulldog team with her ability to space the floor. She is an absolute shooter and if you give her space she will make you pay. It will be intriguing to see how she can continue to grow her skillset in the years to come.
Robyn Clark | 5-7 | 2023 | Guard | Millbrook High School
Clark is a Class of 2023 player that should be on coaches’ radars. She serves a 3 and D role for the potent Millbrook High School Lady Basketball Team. She can space the floor on offense. She shoots the ball with confidence and good mechanics. On defense, she is active and gets her fair share of steals by being in the right place at the right time.
Ja’Kyiah Moore | 5-9 | 2025 | Guard | Corinth Holders High School
Moore is a Class of 2025 Player that should continue to garner interest from coaches at the next level. She is a stat sheet stuffer and she gets it done on both ends of the floor. Defensively she is an absolute terror. She makes ball handlers think twice about bringing the ball up against her. Offensively, she finishes well in traffic. She looks to do more than score, she is a willing passer and creates opportunities for her teammates.
