Her entrance into the gold town of Deadwood made papers and brought tons of publicity; oddly, she entered the town with Wild Bill Hickock, who wasn’t even mentioned in the papers. While most of Annie’s accomplishments are most likely inflated, the games that I saw had feats that are rare in occurrence and rare in that they didn’t need to be inflated.
Okay, I stand majorly corrected. I walked away from PGH 250 thinking that Riley was just a good shooter that needed to be set up to be effective. I saw her on a bad day at 250; I saw her on a great day this week. She dropped 28 against an 8-1 Flushing team. She is a three level scorer that has to be pushed to the right- yes I know she can go right, but she is unstoppable to the left. She hits crazy difficult floaters with tons of contact. As far as deep shooting, she must be treated like Steph Curry; Riley is as cold blooded as it comes when pulling the trigger.
Highlights
Maddie might have been on a minutes restriction in returning from an injury, but she made the most of them against Ortonville. She helped break open a tight game with 11 points, in less than five minutes, to start the 2nd Half. On Friday, she started the game with three 3 pointers in the 1st Quarter. She has a microwave ability to heat up and can hit from all areas.
I had a chance to coach against Ebbert when she was a sophomore; seeing her this week showed me how much she has grown in two years. While the talent was there two years ago, the maturity and poise of a veteran leader was incredible. In a defensive struggle, Ebbert hit a clutch three that would be the dagger and found teammates for the finishing touch. She has led her team in scoring most nights, but it is the way she takes over the game from a leadership and from a physical aspect that impresses me the most.

Swartz Creek is a team that is struggling in the win column but fights until the buzzer. They have the ability to hang around, and a lot of the is because of Jaelyn. She is super slippery off the dribble and somehow finds a way to sneak through double teams. She is a strong bodied kid that can finish through contact. I think the part of her game that I liked the most was her high post work, where she can create for teammates and herself with high efficiency. She had 3/4 of her team’s points on Friday.
