Tonight, I'll continue highlighting some of the most talented kids in each division who can help their programs make a run in the postseason. Next is D3, and with some teams shifting near the top of the middle division, we have plenty of kids we can discuss.

There aren't many six-footers who can do anything you can imagine on the court. What makes Posthuma dangerous is that she can hurt you from anywhere on the floor. The Prescott wing can spot a passing lane from anywhere on the court, knock down a jumper from anywhere, defend any position on the floor, and is usually the most athletic kid on the floor. There is no other kid I want to get to the Resch Center more than Posthuma because the entire state should see what she can do.

[player_tooltip player_id='517912' first='Isabella' last='Pitta']

In a surprise to end the year, Lake [player_tooltip player_id='884522' first='Mills' last=''] beat defending D3 champions Waupun in double overtime. Pitta scored 29 points in the surprise win and owned that entire game. She rebounded in her area around the basket, stepped out, and did some damage on the perimeter. I thought she was excellent, and her game sent a message throughout D3 that Lake [player_tooltip player_id='884522' first='Mills' last=''] is a team that can make a run into March.

[player_tooltip player_id='448261' first='Madeline' last='Leffel']

Kettle Moraine Lutheran has a group of scrappy guards on the defensive end, with a few kids with explosive offensive arsenals. Leffel falls into both categories. What the sophomore does well is bringing energy every minute she's on the floor. Leffel is not a kid who excels on one end of the court. She also isn't afraid of anyone either. You can throw her in the foxhole against one of the best wings in the region, and she may be out-dueled in the long haul, but she'll fight for 36 minutes, and that excites me about her game and mentality the most.

[player_tooltip player_id='206732' first='Kierstin' last='Kriewaldt']

When you look at the layout of D3, most teams have a talented wing, and those kids need to get special defensive attention if anyone wants to get past Waupun, Prescott, or Lake [player_tooltip player_id='884522' first='Mills' last='']. What Kriewaldt does at her best is match up with size and length on the defensive end, and she can run her matchups ragged on the other end. The senior is essentially a 4/5 hybrid at the high school who can do different things to change the complexion of games. If Freedom finishes its unfinished business, it will be because of Kriewaldt.
