The game ended up being a wire to wire route with the Mustangs winning every quarter. The Mustangs press defense seemed to be more than IMG was prepared for as they forced 24 turnovers. Shots that fell and plays that worked against SJC just didn’t work in this one. Here are players that stood out in the game.
Qadence won the MVP award scoring a game high 17 points, 13 in the second half. Her shot was a little of in the beginning as she was 1 for 8 before the break She found her range and took over the second half knocking down a couple of three pointers and getting to the basket whenever she wanted.
Drew scored 10 points in only four shot attempts. She seemed comfortable on the floor with her new team and it felt like she could have took over the game at any time if she wanted to despite only logging 14 minutes.
Olivia won the MVP against SJC but had trouble finding the mark against BMac. She still had team highs of 9 points and 11 boards. She hit a 3 pointer in the second half but was only 1 for 8 from that range. The Mustangs defensive intensity certainly affected her accuracy in the game.
Zhen came off the bench for a 10 point 7 rebound performance. She is very athletic and is sitting somewhere between a wing and post. She plays within her range making her effective and a threat whenever she touches the ball. She runs the floor very well covering a lot of ground in a short period.
Highlights
Taylor brought the effort that IMG needed all around. She came off the bench grabbing 8 boards and shot 80% from the field scoring 9 points. It was a lot better than her 0 for 7 performance against Immaculate Conception-Montclar but her rebounding has been consistent the entire weekend averaging in doble figures.
Highlights
LaNae is coming into her own and getting better each time we see her. She had 9 points and 8 rebounds in the game and showed a really soft touch which was nice to see as she is a power player. Defensively she stepped up with a block and two steals.
