The Vanderbilt commit has been a steady presence down low for 10-1 Fountain-Fort Carson. Kicking off the season with 16.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.8 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game while contributing 66% of field goal attempts. She demonstrates all the fundamental aspects necessary to dominate the paint from a defensive perspective. Such as high hands, finding a body to box out, or being in position to help. Although very talented as is, she still has room to grow from the free throw line and short mid-range. Get some looks at the Vanderbilt commit before she departs.

We recently discussed Meeks' well rounded start to the season last week. To start the year she has posted 6.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2.5 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game while knocking down 35% of her triples.

Paityn Hulstrom - Legacy

Hulstrom is a pesky defender who will get into your comfort zone. The 5'8 senior guard does all the little things necessary to irritate opposing ballhandlers. Should opponents pick up their dribble, rest assured that Hulstrom will dig in before they have time to react. To kick off the season, Hulstrom has posted 5 points, 2.8 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks per game. Given her lateral quickness and relatively low center of gravity, Hulstrom matches up with both perimeter positions. She has no problem battling with bigger opponents, often forcing a kick out pass.

[player_tooltip player_id='118721' first='Amanda' last='Byrnes'] - Brighton

Byrnes sets herself up for success every possession, through her discipline with the fundamentals. The 6'3 senior out of Brighton currently leads 6A in blocks per game, the eye test confirms. To start her season, Byrnes has posted 5.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.6 steals, and 2.4 blocks per game. She possesses quick reaction speed, utilizing her wide reach to contest shots or cause a deflection. Her positioning has stunted a large amount of driving opportunities, forcing opponents into tough decisions. On the opposite end, Byrnes stays poised pushing the pace, often one of the first down the floor. Continuing to refine her scoring around the rim for both hands will be a key for the power forward.
