I have watched a lot of film with a lot of players recently. She’s the most college-ready guard I have seen this season. She looks the part with her skill set and strength. She plays point guard primarily and her handles are elite-level. She doesn’t turn it over and has the ball on a string. She has a quickness to her game that is smooth and strong. She can get to the basket when she wants and draws a lot of fouls. She can finish, she has a quick pull-up jumper and she will see her teammates when the defense helps. She is built for the next level and she is only a junior. She had 19 points but her athletic ability plus skill set is always on display even when she isn’t scoring. You see the prospect.

On the other side, she scored 29 points for Lynden Christian. She has obviously been drilled in the mid-range game. When you have a shooter like her who has turned her mid-range game into a weapon, it is buckets. She pulled up in the paint numerous times in the first half and got a lot of her points from it. She made some threes with her quick and ready-to-shoot release. She has craftiness and ball skills to go with it, making her a scoring machine. She is only a sophomore who is well on her way to being college ready as well. She also rebounds well for a guard and made some nice dump-off passes after getting into the lane.

She is a perfect fit for this team. She can shoot it. They move the ball well and she often benefits from that and the extra attention on Coppinger. She got some looks and she made some shots. A very good shooter from three and a decent athlete in her own right. Nooksack is the easy favorite in Class 1A in my opinion and the backcourt is a big reason why.

Another big piece of the team, she scored a team-high 20 points. She is a solid shooter and can be effective at getting baskets in the paint. She has enough size to make her effective inside and out. That is exactly what she did last night. I’m not saying we hand Nooksack the 1A title now. We can wait until March.
