Bree McDonald Bree McDonald 5'6" | PG Burlington | 2025 State NewE , 5’6 G – Burlington High School Class of 2025
Bree was cooking with gas against last year’s state champs. McDonald delivered 25 against a shorthanded Rice squad, then followed it up with 11 against a Colchester team with savvy guard play. Bree’s deep ball was falling from college distance and then some. Plus, she showed her anticipation defensively by getting into passing lanes and making plays in transition. McDonald and BHS move to 3-3 with two solid wins this week.
Kelli Cieplicki, 5’9 G – Rice Memorial High School Class of 2024
Rice is missing a couple key cogs but Cieplicki is taking full advantage of the opportunity. Kelli put up a crispy 18 against BHS which featured buckets at all three-levels. But she didn’t force up shots and sought to get others involved. Later in the week she delivered eight points against one of the peskiest teams in the state, MMU. Kelli is finding her footing as the team’s new primary playmaker.
Brookelyn Robinson, 5’7 G – Lyndon Institute Class of 2024
Robinson averaged 18 ppg on the week and led Lyndon to a 3-0 record. Efficient and not one to force, Brookelyn has been putting up consistent scoring numbers while maintaining her intent on getting everyone involved. She’s a savvy ball mover, heads up defender, and has shown continued development in her ability to create offense for herself and others in a high-usage role. Robinson can play in multiple roles and systems; she just hoops.
Sydney Perry Sydney Perry 6'0" | PF Windsor | 2024 State NewE , 6’1 F – Windsor High School Class of 2024
Sydney continues to be a mainstay in these POTW editions. She logged a 23-point, 13-board game and tacked on four steals and a couple of blocks too. Perry is relentless on the glass, where she holds opponents to tough single shot possessions, plus she finishes a lot of second chance opportunities for WHS. Her two-way interior dominance has Windsor atop the D3 rankings.
Caitlyn Davison Caitlyn Davison 5'9" | CG Hazen | 2024 State NewE , 5’9 G – Hazen High School Class of 2024
Hazen has been on a tear, going 7-0 after dropping their season opener and Davison is a huge reason why. Caitlyn is a combo-guard who’s comfortable as the primary ballhandler and first option. She’s a pass-first type, able to create offense with her savvy slashes and sly off-ball movement. Plus, she defends 1-3 and has good court awareness on both ends with quick defensive rotations and offensive cunning. Caitlyn is rising.
Hayden Wilkins Hayden Wilkins 5'8" | PG Saint Johnsbury Academy | 2024 State NewE , 5’8 G – St. Johnsbury Academy Class of 2024
Wilkins has kept it rolling after making SportsCenter’s top 10 last week. Yes, you read that right. Regardless, she’s not stopping. Wilkins led St. J to two blowout wins this past week as she dropped 17 against Brattleboro then 10 against South Burlington in limited minutes. Hayden’s a threat both with and without the ball, can score at all three-levels, and defends with great IQ and hustle. She continues to dazzle.
Cherise Shamp, 5’11 G/W – Mount Mansfield Union High School Class of 2023
Shamp’s playstyle might be considered “old-fashioned” by some accounts, and that’s why I like it. In one possession she could be the PG, a post scorer, and then she might defend 1-4 and collect the board on the other end. Cherise loves to get in the paint, whether it’s off a slash or post up, where she demonstrates her savvy footwork while refusing to give up on a play. Shamp’s avid rebounding, defensive grit, and scoring make her one of the most dynamic players around.
Shelby Wells Shelby Wells 5'9" | SF State NewE , 5’9 G – Peoples Academy Class of 2023
The Lone Wolf product had her shooting locked in this week. Wells put down seven threes against U-32, finishing with 25 in a blowout win. She followed that up with an 18 piece with featured more threes, transition finishes and free throws. Shelby’s a heady offensive player who relocates well on drives, plus she can get in the second layer and play make herself. Moreover, she’s a pest in Peoples’ zone defenses as she gets in passing lanes. Wells and PA are 9-2.
Sabine Brueck Sabine Brueck 5'8" | CG North Country Union | 2025 State NewE , 5’7 G – North Country Union High School Class of 2025
Brueck is back at it. Sabine averaged 18 over two games this week with her constant slashing and knock down three ball. Much of that offense is created due to defensive pressure. Sabine loves to dig in against ballhandlers and she forces countless turnovers night in and night out. She has an extra gear in the open court where she separates herself from the pack in a flash. Sabine is the best two-way player in the class of ’25.
