St. Marys – MLK Classic 2023 – Day 3 Results – Part 2

Here are some results from Day 3<strong> </strong>at the event. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Results from the Tournament:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Day 3, Game 5:</strong> Centennial: <strong>62</strong> St. Mary's: 60 <br>Game MVP: <strong>2024, 5'11, SF, Cico Ajonale</strong><br>Cico put in some work this weekend at the tournament, that is why she was made <strong>MVP of the game</strong>, she led her team to a victory over a worthy opponent and was one of the better players on the floor in this event. They pulled off the upset as some would say, beating the host team in a close game. <strong>2024, 6'0, CG/SF, [player_tooltip player_id='104791' first='Jordan' last='Lee']</strong> is a usual suspect that will always play well for her team and she is averaging <strong>17ppg, 7rpg, 2stpg and 2assists</strong>. She is the ALPHA on this squad and she proves it each and every time she hits the floor. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Day 3, Game 6:</strong> Folsom: <strong>80</strong> San Joaquin Memorial: 45 <br>Game MVP: 2024, 5'7, G, Ella Uriate<br>Ella also put in some work to attain the MVP of the game honors, we believe she led her squad to a convincing win over a usually good team in San Joaquin Memorial. I do not know what happen here, but it does not add up when you see SJMHS play in other tournaments this season. With a host of players on their roster in <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='104188' first='Meadow' last='Roland'], [player_tooltip player_id='104194' first='Malaysia' last='Williams'], [player_tooltip player_id='104786' first='Jailynn' last='Clayton'], [player_tooltip player_id='520583' first='Alexis' last='Swillis']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='267594' first='Sariah' last='Potts']</strong>, this is a winning combination on anyones floor. <br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Day 3, Game 7:</strong> Cardinal Newman: <strong>54</strong> McClatchy: 45<br>Game MVP: <strong>2023, 5'8, G, Julia Brunetti</strong><br>Cardinal Newman came out on top in this contest, <strong>Julia Brunetti </strong>put her team on her back and willed them into this win, she scored the ball, she defended and made the right plays to capture the win here. She was fun to watch. The McClatchy players that gave their team a boost were <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='563625' first='Tamaria' last='Rumph'], [player_tooltip player_id='448423' first='Nina' last='Cain']</strong> &amp; <strong>Milah Masters</strong>. This was a close one, but Cardinal Newman held them off in this contest.<br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Day 3, Game 8:</strong> Whitney: <strong>51</strong> Chico: 39 <br>Game MVP: <strong>2025, 5'10, SF, Tylie Kitchen</strong><br>Tylie was the game MVP in this contest due to her solid play in this game to get the win, she does all of things needed to win, she rebounds, she scores, she defends and is a team leader as a young player on the floor. She finished the game with a double-double, 15pts and 13rebs, which drives home our point of her efficiency on the floor. She had assistance with <strong>Kendall Dykstra</strong> with 12pts and 2rebs and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='390512' first='Harper' last='Peterson']</strong> with 15pts &amp; 14rebs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
