Delaney Nyenhuis
The 6-foot forward from Oregon was excellent on both ends of the floor. She used her length to make plays on the ball and grabbed a handful of offensive rebounds around the basket. I love her activity, even when she has to defend out on the perimeter because she uses her length to get her hands on the ball with deflections. I thought she was one of the Panthers who did a good job controlling the game.
Jada Kelliher
Although the Norskies shot the ball at a low clip last night, I liked how Kelliher found her looks. The process of getting to her shots was good. The results were the only thing missing for the junior. However, in the long run, her attempts were all clean and probably ones she could make most of the time. So I won’t hold one game against her. I also thought she was athletic enough to defend some talented guards if asked to. I liked what she did all night, the box score may tell one story, but she’s got plenty of talent.

The Edgewood wing is someone I saw playing in a fall league this past October, and a few things stood out about her. One is if she has enough time to get a shot off, it’s probably finding the bottom of the net, and she’s a good finisher when she attacks the basket with a head of steam. Her shot always has perfect rotation, and even though there is a low arc, it’s incredibly gentle when it gets to the rim. She’s a solid kid to have on your team because she has qualities every coach would want a combo guard to have.
Maddie Kuenzi
Of all the kids I’ve seen this season, I don’t think anyone has as different a role as Kuenzi, and she’s thriving. Last season, the senior was the starting point guard for a team who went to a sectional final and probably believed they should’ve gone to state. This season, she’s played some lead guard, but she’s played as a three or four. She’s screened for her teammates and done some interesting things when she rolls. I love her ability to fill in different roles and still find success.
