An annual tradition is once again back at Rancocas Valley as the South v Shore Games have returned, a one-day girls basketball showcase featuring 22 of the best teams from the Shore Conference and around South Jersey. Here's part 1 of a quick series talking about underrated players you should keep an eye on this Saturday.

Marisiya Goins - Manchester Township (2026)

Goins has performed well in her first high school season, averaging 4.6 PPG and 2.6 RPG in 16 games played. While those totals don't seem like significant on paper, her role for the Hawks has been substantial and she's more than answered the call as a freshman in the starting five.

[player_tooltip player_id='488774' first='Destiny' last='Wallace'] - Wildwood Catholic (2024)

Wallace is in a position as a fringe starter/sixth woman option for the Crusaders and has played it well this season. A complimentary player on both sides of the ball, she's been one of the better passers for Wildwood Catholic this season and should continue on that path for the rest of the year.

[player_tooltip player_id='583712' first='McKenzie' last='Palek'] - Middle Township (2025)

Palek plays with energy and plays with poise as a shooting guard for Middle Township, and her ability to get open on the wing or just anywhere on the perimeter has shown up in full this season. It's not just her shooting that stands out because the sophomore can swipe a pass or make a play on defense with the best of them.

Anais Friedman - Donovan Catholic (2026)

The young talents are showing up a lot in this story and for good reason. Friedman is amongst the best of them and has put together a solid first season for Donovan Catholic despite the team's struggles so far. She's been a player you can pencil in for 4-6 points a game, including a three-pointer, and a few rebounds along the way as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='859132' first='Taylor' last='Tchou'] - Shawnee (2024)

Tchou was really a non-factor over her first two years with Shawnee, but as a junior, she's seen significantly more playing time and has capitalized on it, becoming a solid complementary piece who's been quite active on defense and can facilitate to teammates on offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='482277' first='Rylyn' last='Orlando'] - Manasquan (2023)

Orlando's contributions can get overshadowed on a star-studded team like Manasquan, but make no mistakes about the senior. She's getting her chance to play and produce and she's doing just that. Averaging career-highs across the board, including providing 6+ points a game for Manasquan, she's been a big impact piece.

Maggie St. Claire - Rancocas Valley (2023)

Rancocas Valley was looking for scorers to start the season and they found one in St. Claire, who is leading the Red Devils in scoring thus far. Able to knock down threes, get to the line or make something happen in the lane, she's the all-around guard that this program needs for stabilization.

[player_tooltip player_id='333353' first='Emily' last='Marinelli'] - Point Pleasant Boro (2025)

Boro has seen its fair share of struggles this season, but with such a young roster, those players need to continue to grow and mature. Marinelli is helping to lead the charge of a strong sophomore class and she's been the guard up top running the show. Our biggest talking points with her moving forward is her scoring ability.

Oliva Selverian - Cherokee (2025)

The sophomore presence in this story is just dominating the headlines and Selverian has certainly garnered some attention this season with Cherokee. Alongside senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='134757' first='Gabby' last='Recinto'], Selverian emerged early as a guard who can fill the void of Katie Fricker and make things happen at the top of the key.

[player_tooltip player_id='559826' first='Caroline' last='Bariscillo'] - Ocean Township (2026)

Bariscillo is among the list of freshmen who are getting their legs under them and she's weathered the storm well. So far, Ocean Township has been using her as a bench piece, but she's been productive when out on the floor, arguably having her best game against Jackson Liberty on the 19th, with four points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal.
