Jamyah Blakeney Jamyah Blakeney 5’7″ | CG Forest Hills | 2023 State NC is quick getting to the ball and handling it on offense. She can explode to get the loose ball to gain possession, and she blows by her opponents with ease for some points. She doesn’t mind contact at the rim battling for her points no matter what it takes. She has a nice hesitation move, and she can definitely use a step back to drain a three pointer. She’s averaging almost 30 points a game.
Jade Washington Jade Washington 5’5″ | SF Parkwood | 2023 NC is a player who does everything for her team whether she needs to handle the ball, post up inside, grab rebounds, or make sharp passes to her teammates. She does a nice job pushing the ball up the court grabbing the defensive board and handling it on her own finding her teammate ready for the rock underneath the basket. When she’s handling the ball, she has a nice in and out move to throw off her defender just enough to blow by them. On defense, she does a nice job knocking the ball away from her opponents trying to drive by her.
Alyssa Lewis Alyssa Lewis 5’7″ | SG Hickory Ridge | 2023 State NC did a nice job getting inside for some rebounds for her team, and she pushed these right up the court for some fast breaks. She even showed her ability to handle a post in the paint keeping her in front of her and using her full length to inhibit the offense from getting going. She always excels at finding the lane to score some points at the rim. She continues to show off her shot from deep.
Erica McClary
Erica McClary
Erica McClary has a nice pull up getting around her defender for the open shot. She slid around the perimeter for some open shots knocking them down for three. She controlled the tempo pushing it up the court when her team had numbers, and she did a nice job ending the possession for her opponents sneaking in for some rebounds.
Kayla Decker Kayla Decker 5’8″ | SF Cox Mill | 2023 NC did a nice job getting up for the rebounds helping her team in all areas of the court. She is a strong defender stripping the ball away from her opponents and taking these steals the other direction for her own points. She hustled back covering the middle when needed on the full court press deflecting passes. She has a nice crossover that she uses to get around her opponents with ease.
Nya South
Nya South
Nya South jumped into passing lanes on the press pushing it up the court right away. She did a nice job using the glass to bank in her shots after creating space from her defender. She could score with her back to the basket turning to shoot, or she used her dribbles to get to the hoop. She battled inside for rebounds evening using offensive boards to earn some trips to the free throw line.
