Alyssa Lewis continues to show a lot of leadership with her team scoring on all levels for Hickory Ridge.  She attacks the basket driving hard against contact, and she’s a knockdown shooter from anywhere around the perimeter.  As one of the main ball handlers, she sees the floor well knowing how to find the open areas and get her teammates involved or attack the gaps herself.  She is constantly keeping her eyes peeled for the best play to help her team get some points.  Hickory Ridge will be traveling to Northern Guilford for round 2 on Thursday.

Alyssa Lewis always seems to the the focal point for opposing teams because she has been one of the top shooters in the area.  She can knock down shots from anywhere.  You need her to pull up from the volleyball line?  She’s got you.  She handles the ball well running point for her high school team as she uses her vision to create plays and find the open areas for her teammates.  She is an aggressive defender staying in the face of her opponent stripping the ball away and pushing the steal up the court for two points.

Alyssa Lewis Alyssa Lewis 5'7" | SG Hickory Ridge | 2023 State NC did a nice job getting inside for some rebounds for her team, and she pushed these right up the court for some fast breaks.  She even showed her ability to handle a post in the paint keeping her in front of her and using her full length to inhibit the offense from getting going.  She always excels at finding the lane to score some points at the rim.  She continues to show off her shot from deep.

This guard is a big time shooter with deep range. She routinely makes volleyball line three point shots and displays no fear in getting her shot off. She is not just a scorer as she has the ability to make plays for others. She can get in the lane and she can finish around defenders.

Lewis is coming off a spring and summer that saw her run grassroots with Team United Calhoun 17U. Following a 2021-22 where she averaged 14 points per game in the 28 games she played, she is poised to conclude her high school career with an exclamation point. Lewis’ status as an asset to any team is not only apparent through her putting points on the board. She is listed at 5-foot-7 and is as efficient a rebounder as she is a scorer. Lewis has mastered the art of taking care of the ball and limiting turnovers and understands how to keep her teammates involved in the flow of the game with her proficient passes. Defensively, she is a threat to collect steals and create extra possessions for her team. There is a reason why Lewis is in our top 25 of North Carolina seniors.

Alyssa Lewis Alyssa Lewis 5'7" | SG Hickory Ridge | 2023 State NC seems to challenge herself more and more with the distance that she can shoot from behind the arc.  Even with hands in her face, it’s a sure bet that you will see the ball going through the hoop when she puts up a shot.  She does well driving hard to the basket, too, battling against contact to get some points.  Her ability to drive and penetrate the paint opens up the floor for her teammates as well, so she can make some nice passes into them to get her team some points.
