Girls were chomping at the bit to face district opponents, as they jockeyed for positions in the standings. With less than a month away from district tournaments, each game becomes pivotal for standings/ seeding purposes.
Tuesday night saw a lot of teams get back to action. Girls were coming off their holiday break ready to show the locals what strides they took while away. With that being said, it was good to be back in the gym catching some action as prospects went toe to toe. Here are some standouts from Middle Tennessee that caught our eye.
Daisy Gale Daisy Gale 5'8" | PG PCA | 2024 State TN (Jr./G/PCA)– Love her energy. She was active on both ends of the court. Her defensive tenacity created many turnovers that led to easy transition buckets. When in the offensive set, her ability to get down hill and finish was clutch. Easy money as she created scoring opportunities for her and her teammates.
Abby McFarland Abby McFarland 5'8" | SG PCA | 2023 State TN (Sr./G/PCA)- I want to dub her Abby “McBuckets” as she can knock down shots from all 3 levels. Spot up, check. Drive and finish, check. You name it, she was out there scoring the rock. Dropped 21 points in a win over GCA.
Jaloni Cambridge Jaloni Cambridge 5'8" | PG Ensworth | 2024 State FL (Jr./PG/Ensworth)– Was in beast mode against Harpeth Hall. Dropped 34pts on the Honeybears onto a victory. She’s a dawg out there as she has so many tools in her toolbelt. From knocking down 3s to getting to the rim, her offensive game was on point throughout the night. Defensively, she created havoc from the tip-off, playing lockdown defense throughout the course of the game. There is a reason why she is one of the best in the country and the number one player in the state.
Amaya Thomas Amaya Thomas 5'7" | SF Ezell-Harding | 2023 State TN (Sr./G/Ezell-Harding)– Another multi-level scoring threat who is a pure “go-getter.” As soon as the ball tips, Amaya springs into action. Great two-way player who is the catalyst of success for her Lady Eagles club. She’s the engine out there on the floor and directs the Ezell attack. Poise and mature with the ball in her hands, great things come to fruition every time she touches the ball. Led her team with 18 points.
AC Shirley (Fr./G/ MTCS)– Special freshman talent that plays like a vet. She’s a knockdown shooter for the Lady Cougars ball club. Great size and length, she tallied 24pts Tuesday night for the black and orange. Can knockdown shots from all 3 levels, she’s a marksman from the arc for sure.

(So./F/ Harpeth Hall)– Smart and talented, this girl has tremendous size. Has the skill set to step out beyond the arc to knockdown the 3 ball, but gets it done inside for sure. Mid-range, she’s got it. In the paint, she’s got it. Put backs, she’s got that too. She finishes well against contact in the paint. Defensively, she’s a problem as coaches scheme to pull her away from the basket. She gains rebounds and gets the HH transition attack going. Great player who will continue to grow.

(Jr./G/ Summit)– “Energizer bunny.” This kid plays with a tremendous motor. She can stroke it from deep, yet get to the rim as well. She plays hard and fast and is such a student of the game. You can tell she leaves it all out on the court. What is impressives, she has great court awareness that enables her to know when to strike work find other ways to carve out the defense. Her game doesn’t stop on the offensive end, as she helps the Lady Spartans on D as well. Solid kid who competes to the fullest.
