The highly anticipated rematch between the Bixby Spartans and Owasso Rams in the 6A Region 4 Championship game did not disappoint. After a low scoring affair in their last meeting, both teams came out with high intensity and energy on the defensive end.
The first quarter was dominated by Bixby’s defense, as they held Owasso to just 4 points while executing their offensive game plan to perfection, ending the quarter with a 14-4 lead. Early in the second quarter, Owasso’s McKenna Yokely picked up her 3rd foul and had to sit for the remainder of the half, which proved to be a major setback for Owasso.
Bixby continued to apply pressure on the defensive end, which led to good looks on the offensive side of the ball. Owasso remained poised and tried to weather the storm, but without Yokely on the court, they were outmatched. The first half ended with Bixby holding a commanding 26-10 lead.
The second half was much of the same, as Bixby continued to execute their game plan and maintain their lead. Owasso fought hard, but it was ultimately not enough to overcome Bixby’s defense and intensity.
