Gentry Baldwin Gentry Baldwin 5'5" | PG Bixby | 2023 State OK is a tenacious basketball player who brings a lot of intensity and fight to her game. Despite her team’s struggles on the offensive end, Gentry never gave up and worked hard to spark her team. Her 3-pointers and drive to the basket late in the game were crucial in gaining momentum. Additionally, Gentry’s competitive spirit never wavered, and she even forced a few turnovers on the defensive end. She looks to keep her season alive on Saturday verse Choctaw in a must-win to make it to State. Gentry finished with 11 points verse Norman in the 6A East Area Championship. 

Gentry Baldwin Gentry Baldwin 5'5" | PG Bixby | 2023 State OK is an exceptional Floor General, who sets the tone for her team both offensively and defensively. Her leadership on the court was evident in the 6A Region-4 Championship game where she recorded her 1000th career point, and led her team to victory with 13 points. Defensively, she was instrumental in igniting pressure and intensity by recording over 10 steals and deflections, while also dishing out around 6 assists.

Lead guard that control the pace of the game and get teammates involved. Unselfish player that puts the success of her teammates over hers. Skilled guard with creative handles and explosive speed to attack the gaps and push the ball. She is quick to advance the ball ahead and feed her teammates. When she gets the ball back, she has good sense of what the other team is doing and make adjustments like a quarterback would on the fly. She is an underrated shooter that can shoot it in bunches from deep and she is starting to attack and finish at the rim through contact.

Gentry Baldwin: The floor general for Bixby, she controls the pace of the game and gets everyone on her team in their spots to succeed. Will advance the ball up the floor as soon as she touches it. She has the ability to give you 20 points every night but puts her teammates success ahead of hers. Unselfish player that will do well at the next level.

Gentry is a floor general that embodies the true definition of a point guard. She leads her team, makes sure every player is in the best possible position to play their best, and she is a true competitor. Defensively she will pick-up the ball and apply pressure to disrupt the flow, then she plays the passing lane, rotates, and communicates exactly like a coach would want their lead-guard to do. She is a very skilled player that has improved leaps and bounds over the years and to see where she is now as a player – she has a lot to be proud of. She handles the ball very well and knows how to knock defenders off balance and back on their heels. If you pressure her, she will handle it well and possibly embarrass you. She is a knock-down shooter and is developing the ability to attack the basket in traffic and finish at the rim. She is a hard-worker and caught the eye of several college programs which include several Division 2 schools along with a handful of Division 1 offers. She has verbally committed to Oral Roberts University and plans to attend in the Fall of 2023.
