These youngsters will be in action tonight in the sectional playoffs around the state.
Madison Carvajal (Meadville): The 5’7″ point guard continued her tremendous play in her first varsity campaign with 19 points and nine steals in Meadville’s big victory over Linn in the Class 1, District 15 championship game at Meadville. Those numbers are pretty much what she has been producing throughout the season.
Loghann Leivan (Miller, pictured): The 5’9″ forward is one of the three talented freshman who start for Miller and has kept the district championships coming. She scored 12 points in the 59-35 victory over MCE in the Class 2, District 13 championship game. She is a very solid player who can score around the basket and rebound. She is very strong and she has good fundamentals.
Parker Ernst (Neelyville): The 6’0″ forward scored a team-high 11 points to lead the Lady Tigers to a 51-43 victory over Campbell for the Class 2, District 1 championship at Bloomfield. She can really impact the game with her height and length at both ends of the court.
Lily Chitwood (New Franklin): The 5’6″ guard helped lead New Franklin to the Class 2, District 7 championship. She scored 16 points in a victory over Harrisburg. She is an excellent 3-point shooter who can light it up from downtown when she gets on a roll.
Rylee Robinson (St. Vincent): The young wing player scored 12 points in St. Vincent’s victory over Oran in the Class 2, District 3 championship game. On offense, she can space the floor with her good 3-point shooting. She was also effective on the defensive end with her coverage on the full court press.
Ashlynn Helton Ashlynn Helton 5'8" | SG Miller | 2026 State MO (Miller): The young wing player had 12 points in Miller’s victory over MCE in the Class 2, District championship game. She is a good athlete who can impact the game at both ends of the court. She also grabbed 11 rebounds in the district semifinals. She’s very mobile and she can also handle the ball.
Loren Bojko (Fordland): The young forward had 12 points in Fordland’s impressive victory over Marionville in the Class 2, District 11 championship game. She has good size and a versatile skill set. She finished well around the basket and she can knock down the open 3-pointer to space the floor.
Rachel Nunez Rachel Nunez 5'8" | SG Miller | 2026 State MO (Miller): The 5’9″ forward had eight points and 10 rebounds in the victory in the Class 2, District 13 championship game last Saturday. She is a physically strong post player who likes the physical game. I liked how she can get out of her area to grab rebounds.
