These will be players from an Arbor Prep victory against Romulus and an Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard win against Divine Child.
Utomi was a flat out nightmare to match up with. She had a big time strength advantage and she knew how to use it in all aspects of her game. Utomi was able to win and establish position under the rim to grab boards and she finished with 12 rebounds on the night. This afforded her put back opportunities. Utomi did a great job pushing the pace off a rebound and was able to go coast to coast for a bucket. She was able to straight line drive with physicality and finish at the rim.
Hughes’ handles are what really stood out to me in this game. She was able to deal with pressure and didn’t make many mistakes with the ball. She showed a fast first step with the ball in her hands and definitely possesses blow by speed when attacking the basket. Hughes showed good court vision, especially when on the move. She looked tough on her finishes, showing a slick euro step with touch on the finish and was also able to finish physically at the bucket.
Vanessa Rodriguez
Vanessa Rodriguez
Rodriguez is a premier guard in the class of 2026 and it was very evident as to why in the win against Divine Child. We all know that she can shoot, but really, she showed a little of everything in the game. Let’s start with her defense. Rodriguez did a nice job stepping in passing lanes and making it difficult for her opponent. Offensively, she showed some variety in her scoring. Rodriguez had a catch and shoot triple and also drilled a pull up jumper. She finished at the rim for a bucket and had a slick drive and dish for the assist. Most impressive was Rodriguez’s basketball IQ. The way she understands ball movement and finds and fills open space on the perimeter against a zone is beyond her years.
Hannah Glowzinski

Stat sheets only tell part of the story. After watching this game, I was convinced that I would want Glowzinski on my team any day. She just works so hard and comes with so much energy, especially around the rim. She rebounded bigger than her height and definitely pulled down some big ones. Glowzinski was an impact player on the defensive end. She should feel really good about some of the things she did in this game.
If you watched this game, you know why Miller is considered an elite prospect in her class. Divine Child got off to a fast start and an early 15-0 lead. That’s when Miller went to work. She scored 6 straight points, both working right to left off screens with perfection. First she buried a triple and then she was fouled on a 3 point shot and proceeded to make all 3 free throws. Now for the fun part. I haven’t seen a player all year use the bounce pass as effectively as Miller did in this game. Best part is, 3 that I can think of came in transition and led directly to points. When Miller shoots and passes like this, there aren’t many teams that can stay in front of Gabriel Richard.
