Stephanie Utomi Stephanie Utomi 5'9" | SG Arbor Prep | 2024 State MI showed how good she is Saturday at the Holiday Classic. She hit pull up jumpers from the elbow and finished using powerful pro hops through defenders in the paint. Stephanie imposed her physical presence on both ends, scoring a baseline drive at the rim through contact. Stephanie stole passes and created extra possessions by controlling the boards for Arbor Prep, she had a double double.

Utomi was dominant in the Arbor Prep victory against South Lake. In fact, she was dominant on both ends of the floor. Yeah she scored, rebounded and hit teammates with some pretty passes, but it was her defense that ruled the day. Defensively, Utomi was athletic, energetic and played with a high IQ all game long.

Utomi led her team to the Regional Finals last season where they fell to a talented Blissfield team. She was a 1st team selection of the Associated Press All-State team. She and her twin sister Stacy just committed to Mercer University. She is a top 10 player in the State and has a chance to be the Division 3 player of the year. I expect Arbor Prep to have another deep run in the postseason behind the well rounded game of Utomi.

Utomi was a flat out nightmare to match up with. She had a big time strength advantage and she knew how to use it in all aspects of her game. Utomi was able to win and establish position under the rim to grab boards and she finished with 12 rebounds on the night. This afforded her put back opportunities. Utomi did a great job pushing the pace off a rebound and was able to go coast to coast for a bucket. She was able to straight line drive with physicality and finish at the rim.

Utomi showed that she, even as a superstar, was willing to do the little things to help her team to a win. She finished the game with 15 points.

Utomi is an impressive prospect to say the least. She has college ready strength, which gives her the ability to defend multiple positions. Utomi is so dangerous when she slashes to the rim. She has strong hands on the catch and can finish at the rim with athleticism. Utomi can shrug off contact and get to the line.
