Crittenden showed why she’s a tough matchup. She can get up and down the floor in a hurry, helping to make transition opportunities difficult against her team as well as giving her team a shot at beating the defense back. Speaking of her defense, Crittenden is a plus defender that recognizes trap opportunities and gets to them quickly. She’s a high percentage shooter with very good shot selection.
Overweg was very impressive in many facets of her game. The thing that IU noticed right away, and kept noticing throughout the game, was her decision making. She made quick and confident decisions with the basketball. Overweg didn’t let the ball stick in her hands and forced the defense to move. She seems to always see the play unfold. Overweg is physically strong and has the takeover mode on offense.

Overweg is definitely a player to watch for the rest of this season and beyond that. She worked really hard under the rim, coming 1 rebound shy of a double-double in this game. I liked the way she secured the ball off the glass and looked down the floor for the pass. Overweg established position early and used her strength on the block. She also showed active hands and good vision on defense.
Her game is really pretty simple to evaluate. Name a skill and say she’s good at it. Seriously though, I really like the way she’s expanded her game over the years. Bowers has always been a stone cold shooter, but that’s just a piece of her game. She’s a 2 way player that will hit every corner of the stat sheet. She almost had double digit assists when I evaluated her game. Bowers has a pure feel for the game and the action around her, which is huge at the point guard position.
Basketball purists have got to love watching Geers play and every coach has got to want a player like her on their roster. She’s the ultimate glue player with her ability to fill basically any role that her team needs on any given night. Geers continues to show that she’s a high influence player on both ends of the floor. She can defend all over the floor and remains incredibly efficient on the offensive end.
Miller’s numbers weren’t huge when I evaluated her game, but really, they don’t always need to be. We know that she can shoot from behind the arc and so do other teams. Miller moving without the ball and finding spots on the floor really keeps the defense honest for her teammates. She can be a real key in her team’s playoff run. If Miller plays well, they’re a very tough out. Miller looks much improved on the defensive end and I really think that she’s a very underrated player and prospect.
